this is why we have the babolat alliance
i would join as i have posted there, but no one has responded that im in
Dido...Long live the Pure Drive Alliance!
I have one...but don't play with it.
Pure Drive Cortex Standard
Main Topspin CyberPower/ Cross Babolat Powergy
I got one. Read my sig
This is actually a pretty fun idea. Just because there's a Babolat Alliance doesn't mean there can't be a PD club. Let's do this! I'm in.
I have a pd cortex standard. I thought about switching, but know I think I'm going to stick with it. BTW westside, I was thinking about trying that exact same set up you have. I was just a little worried I would have elbow problems. Can you tell me about that setup, and the feel.
Its not arm friendly at all...but i dont have a pd so i wouldnt be able to say about on the pd but considering its pretty stiff it cant be very friendly...
im in. is it worth getting the cortex version? (any noticeable difference?) got a non cortex team standard and am going to buy another stick before spring season starts
Dang yall everyones in! So far this is a great turnout. I am number one. Number yourselves by the order in which you posted. Thanks for all the positive feedback yall!
3. budkid (doesn't use it though)
6. Commando Tennis Shorts
thanks a bunch bundey. Hey also i read your article on stuck with racket and i was in the same situation, but am not anymore. lol
Oh, you decided to stick with the pure drive? That is what I think I'm going to do.
no i had some radicals and traded with my russian immigrant coach yevginy. lol
Count me in. I have 2 PDR+ strung with XOne Bi-Phase. Best racket I have ever played with for my game and I have tried them all, literally speaking. I initially resisted demoing the PD since I heard a lot of horror stories about it. But when I did, It was an eye opener. Even my partner, who is loyal player's racket user with advanced strokes, agreed that it's a great stick. Best blend of power, control, spin and touch of any racket, imho. You have to have the right game for it, but isn't that true with any racket? The PD/PDC/PDR is not getting enough respect on these boards in my opinion.
Count me in. I have a Pure Drive Standard Cortex with Xcel Premium 17 @ 59lbs. Love this racquet!
count me in... i have a babolat pd standard (no cortex) strung with sppp at 58lbs
you're all in
You all sound truly dedicated, unwavering, firm believers in your racket of choice!!
bro what r u talking about i made the club?
my two are strung with prince tour blend
Cool, I'm #2. Watch out Minimee
Should we have assign titles to the members?
if you guys want to have titles i dont care
I want a title!
I've got a PD with Cortex but I can't play for 4 weeks
We should have leaders of the different divisions---Pure Drive Team Standard, Pure Drive Team Plus, Pure Drive Cortex Standard, Pure Drive Cortex Plus, Pure Drive Roddick Standard, Pure Drive Roddick Plus
ok im the leader of pure drive team
Count me in!!!!
Babolat Pure Drive Team....!!!!
ok cool rulo
Shotgun leader of Pure Drive w/ Cortex standard
westside, can you answer the question I posted on the first page. Also, can someone come up with a name for me?
i just brought 2 so count me in.
what is yours stung with
Luxilon Orig at 54 lbs w/~6 grams of lead in the head and ~3 in the handle.
ps My official title is: #2 :-D
mine is strung with polyfibre tcs rapid as im sponsored by them at 56lb
I call leader of Pure Drive Team Plus division
#2 is ok with this
I could be leader of the pure drive standard cortex division, if that is okay?
Okay, enough with forum/thread rank and on to serious talk...
I used the PDR for a period and then switched over to the k95 and k90.
Have 'settled' on the k95 but not really happy with it. It hits well and I can handle it well - but for me it's just missing something. For one, they have bad vibration... more so than the ncode 95s
I'm thinking of dusting off my PDR's and riding them for a while. Best serve stick around and at the right tension the groundies are controlled well.
So - I believe I'm back on the PDR bandwagon. BTW... I own 5. But will be adding a bit of lead to the frames.
My setup will follow to the PDR: Signum Pro Hextreme 17 Mains and X-1 Biphase 17 crosses at 64 lbs.
Where do I send my membership application? I just bought a PD w/cortex last week and I'm very satisfied.
you send it to P.O box right here
love the pure drive plus. great racquet
Hi Bubba, how is your post "serious talk"??? Seriously???
If people want to post what their PDR setup consists of, I think that would be cool. Here's a template if anyone wants.
PDR team standard, 4 3/8 (no overgrip)
Babolat BB original strings ~54lbs
6 grams in the head (~3g at 3 and 9, and ~3g and 12) and 3 grams in the handel.
Ahem... Haven't we been here before on another certain thread of our aquaintance?
I'm warning you, I might well have to bring in the lawyers on this!
The Commander In The Field (and Tavern) Formerly Known As Rosskins
can we post pics?
haha, hey ross. i actually think this is a really fun thread idea. of course, we're probably all still deeply involved in the babolat alliance, but i think this is meant to be a spinoff of that, not a replacement
