Does anyone know the rules for who'll qualify for Beijing? I mean, in other sports there are 'limits' you have to run/swim/cycle, but it's different in tennis. Obviously there cn't be a qualification tournament for all players, and I think there won't be ten french and ten spanish players out there, because nationality always counts at the olympics. Does anyone know what the rules are?

And how many people will play? 64?

Hey, just beat me to it and I only looked it up yesterday myself. Good to see that there are points for the tournament as well. Thats a lot more than other athletes get, especially the ones who don't get beyond 5th or 6th or threabouts.

Thanks! But if number 1-56 would include 8 Spanish players, would that mean that numbers 57-60 qualify automatically?
