When pros hit topspin forehands how high is the ball from the top on the net? Also is there anyway to get a topspin ball that isn't very high (over the net), but when it bounces on the opponents side it kicks up?

the pros hit it in a variety of hights above the net. some use lots of topspin on their forehand and throw it 10+ feet above the net.

to hit a topspin ball that isnt very high over the net, but kicks up, you need to get lower and more under the ball when u brush. bend ur knees more, and use your leg muscles to push urself upwards/towards the ball.

it would also help if you had a western grip.

heh if you really want to feel topspin, try an extreme western grip and swing as hard as you can.. (not saying you need that grip but just to see how it feels and looks)

I was doing that with my coach last weekend and it felt great... Now when I know a lollipop second serve is coming, I switch to very extreme western and wack the ball 100% power. Usually results in a easy winner.

Open stance, western grip & hit the ball when it is starting to drop from its highest point. You may need to take one or two steps back from usual court position and lower yourself bending your knees.
