i was watching several racquet reviews and noticed that you switched from a 1HB to a 2HB.

when and why did you make this switch?

    thanks

    Good eye!

I made the switch around September 2010. Long story short, I was already mulling around the idea of switching because my 1 hander was pretty weak and inconsistent. I played a tournament where my opponent really exposed that weakness. After that loss, I made up my mind that I'd switch to a 2 hander. I mean, what did I have the lose? It was a rough 12-16 months until I became comfortable with my new shot. But now, I have no regrets with my switch. (Although it's still a big weakness of mine).

I wrote a blog on it here:

i also noticed chris edwards made the same switch from a 1HB to a 2HB in the videos.

    same reason for him?

thanks for the reply and explanation.

I still have a one hander. I had a nasty triceps injury many years back where a piece of bone got pulled off my elbow. At times my triceps tendons flare up and it makes it uncomfortable to hit my backhand. Hitting two handed helps and keeps me in the game, however, it is far from a natural shot for me. I switch back to one as soon as possible.
    Cheers,
