Hey guys I am a freshman at a division 3 school, and I think I might want to transfer to division 1 next year. I'd like to practice harder and longer and division 3 is not offering that for me. I know that to talk to other schools you have to get permission from your current athletic director. My question is, when is the best time to 1. talk to my coach/athletic director and 2. to look at division 1 schools. I know that most D1 schools recruit in the fall for incoming freshman, but how about transfers?

    Thanks a ton

you might try to get ahold of serveitup911, he is a poster on here and plays D1 college at Furman university. He may be able to give you some advice.

DI schools are always recruiting. There's no set time. But they're really strict about talking to other schools so make sure you get permission, or else you'll be kicked off. I play DI and I was recruited in the spring/early summer.
