I am going to be purchasing a P Graphite Original (Classic) Oversize, 4 5/8, through TW but, as it will need to be shipped to Australia, I didn't know whether I should elect to have it strung or not.

Is it better for international orders to recieve the frame unstrung and, if that doesn't matter, would I run into any problems if my string of choice was gut?

None of the racquets I have had posted to Australia strung seem to have suffered from the trip. However don't know about gut. Re postage take my advice and don't get it sent Fedex or you will pay customs. Have never had to pay customs for any racquet I have had sent through Express Mail. Normally takes 8-10 days with Express Mail post. Hope this helps.

I used to ship strung racquet to Azerbaijan from TW a few years ago. String was natural gut. Nothing happened during trip, everything was OK.
