I recently bought 2 Head Prestige Classic 600, but what's weird is that they kind of have different looks. The 2 obvious differences are... :

(1)one has Head logo on a plastic "wrap" right above the handle; the other does not.

(2)one says "Prestige Classic 600" on the side; the other says "Classic Mid".

My questions are, are they same racquets in terms of feel, play-ability? Could one of these be fake racquet (I hope not)?? If both are genuine, why did Head make 2 versions of same racquet?

Also, the barcode sticker is not on the racquet. Instead, it says "barcode label inside", but I didn't see any barcode lable. Does anyone know where is the "insisde" that I can find barcode lable on the racquet??

I think the only possible answer is that one is designed for Europe (PC600) while the other is designed for USA (PMid). But anyway they are the same model with just some different details in the paintjob like some of asian Wilson sticks.

The one on the left is the newer TW Release. The one on the right is the older version.

Try the search...there is lots of information regarding the different "names" of the PC 600.

The Classic Mid was a US release, I think Head was legally not allowed to use the word "Prestige" due to a lawsuit.

I'm not sure if all the Classic Mids did not have the plastic collar either. It doesn't affect how the racquet plays. They're just different pallets.

Also, the barcodes are under the pallet (on the side at the top of the handle).

Should play all the same, unless you're really hung on "Made in Austria."

Weigh them and measure the balance points.

    This could remove any worries.....

Not to worry they are both genuine.

The "Classic Mid" marked racquet was sold in the U.S. in 1999 and 2000 with a SMU to Tennis-Warehouse in 2002. The reason why it has Classic Mid on it is because HEAD lost the rights to the "Prestige" name for Tennis racquets to Wilson for the North American Market in 1999 and 2000. In 2001 HEAD had Prestige marked racquets again with the i.Prestige for the U.S.A and the rest of the world.

Don't worry about the Barcode Label.

What exactly is a "pallet"?? Do I have to remove something to see the barcode label?

No, I had it for a while and I liked it more so than the Prestige classics 600, I have way too many frames and this was just sitting around. Last one like it went for $175 used with $25 shipping, I am letting mine go for much less. Not sure how I was being accused of making $10 more:confused:
