two past legends always intrigated me: Crawford and Patty

Gentle jack would have won the GS, being the first man to do so in 1933, had he not get drunk by his friends a few hours before the USO final that he lost...in 5 sets.He is the second big australian player in tennis history, right after Norman Brookes.I heard he had a fine and elegant all round game.

Budge Patty is one of the best, yet vastly underpsoken US champion, who won majors at the start of the 1950´s.He had a very nice and classy all round game, with a sensational Fh volley, if I recall properly. He was somewaht of a romantic, living some years as an amateur in Paris.

Two appealing characters as well as great all time tennis players.

what are your opinions on that?
