Do you think a 5,5 105 lb boy could use a VCore 98D, or would it be too heavy? Also if yes, what string should I put in it? Thanks.

He is 12 years old. He likes to stay at the baseline but will come to the net if he needs to. I'd say 70% baseline 30% net.

When I played with the vcore it felt ridiculously light compared to other racquets i've used. So I'd think so. Just don't string it with poly and you should be good.

98D is pretty head light so he may be ok but demo it first. If he uses dampener buy him Sampras version as the Yonex one that comes with the racket weights almost 5 grams. You can use any hybrid of soft co-poly 17 and syngut, e.g. Yonex Poly Tour Pro 125 Graphite and Forten Sweet 16 at 52/50 lb. If tension does not hold you can use PTP 130.
In general the correct racket should be 100S that is lighter and less stiff but this racket is very popular with girls and so he may always stick out as the only boy who plays with this racket.

Thanks cause he really likes mine that he tried. I'll let him use it for a hour and a half hitting session, see if its too heavy.

At that age - international nylon! Cheapest possible string; then follow by synethetic gut! Yes that what I would do for someone that is 12 years old!
