If i tend to hit high in the stringbed of a 27 inch frame (checking string wear patterns) should i consider a move to a 27.5 inch frame?

Im about 6'3, so i always figured i had the necessary reach to handle standard length frames...

well, theoretically, it would work, but that doesn't seem like a big enough deal to switch frames. The best thing to do is bounce the ball about 100 times right in the center of the racquet before you play and focus on the ball. Then when you start playing try and get a good distance from the ball, but not too far and try to concentrate on hitting the center.

Hitting high in the stringbed in itself is not terrible, so long as you're not popping strings a lot. You might consider adding some lead tape on both sides of the frame at the level you're making contact with the ball. This will help bring the sweetspot up higher on the frame where you need it. But, if you're not satisfied with the results, it wouldn't hurt to try a couple of longer rackets. There are many to choose from with lengths of 27 1/4, 27 1/3, 27.4, 27 1/2, 27.6 and 27 3/4. Who knows? It might be just what you were after.
