RADIO!!!!: Broadcasting NCAA Big West tennis matches. . . Yep. Big question: What do you suggest me say/do/commentate on for covering a NCAA Division 1 tennis match (or multiple matches) on radio? (For UC Santa Barbara) I never really mentioned. . . but I'm a freshman in UCSB, and I am currently one of the sports broadcasters on KCSB-FM 91.9, radio of UC Santa Barbara, and Santa Barbara county in California. (Just joined this quarter. UCSB is like. . .no 65 in Division I. I think. I know more. . .but its hard to think after midterm week. . .) Currently, I cover men's volleyball, and covered two matches so far, and have done countless stories/input about them on our sports show. (The Gauchos are big IF this year, even with 7 returning starters -___-) However, volleyball is not my sport. I never played volleyball. I'm still trying to grasp the nuances of the game. -__- TENNIS, on the other hand. . . is my sport. I played tennis for five years now, competed in CIF in doubles, I have I guess a pretty good grasp on the tidbits of tennis, I still play (in class and in intramural), blah blah blah. . . I talked my sports director into letting me broadcast a tennis match live. Thing is, we've never done a live broadcast of a tennis match before ever in the history of KCSB-FM. . .according to him. So. . .I might broadcast as soon as Saturday, when we're playing University of San Diego at home, 1 pm. Otherwise, I'd have to debut (in tennis) sometime in middle of February, or early March. But I know for sure we're gonna broadcast the Big West finals in Indian Wells. . . Oh yea, in case you guys are interested in hearing me broadcast, and offer critique, the broadcasts are not only on air, but also online in our website, http://www.kcsb.org/ Do you guys have any advice?
