He had some good runs in majors, with the 2003 Australian Open and 2008 Wimbledon. He had a very good 2003, with nice wins over Roddick at the Australian Open and the Masters Cup in Houston. He also reached the 2004 Monte Carlo final, but got demolished in 3 straight sets by Coria. I also remember an epic tiebreak he had with Clement in their 2008 Wimbledon quarter final match, where Schuettler led 6-0, Clement got it back to 6-6, before Schuettler won it 8-6.

Despite spending much of his career as a journeyman type player, he was pretty good to watch. I hope he has a good retirement.

Will always remember that 2003 Australian Open run; perhaps he might have won if he had not met Agassi, who at that time was just playing so well on rebound ace. Thanks for the memories Rainer! :)

Will always remember him for ruining Nalbandian and Roddick run to the 2003 Aussie final.
