I'm afraid Roger might not play enough to maintain number two? Is that possible?

Hard to say, I took a slight punt on Fed finishing first. I just don't think Rafa will be anywhere as good this year....lots of point to lose on clay and grass.

It's starting to look like it will all depend on their health. It'll be the last man standing. Plus, if Federer really only cares about the Grand Slams, how many points could he lose along the way?

This will depend on Federer winning Wimbledon and the Masters Cup and defending his US Open title. I think that it will really come down to how Nadal and Fed compare to each other in the 1000s though.

Ok since obviously I have to make it clear to you. You just got some of your medicine back.

My point is that your prediction is as good as mine. I have my reasoning to estimate what I did, and you have yours.

There was no place for you to post a comment like you did, and that is, my friend, called trolling, not when I post my opinion on the subject. If you didn't like my list you could have posted some arguments against it, not just silly childish flaming.

Underestimate Nadal at your own peril! He's had a lot of points to defend on clay and grass for the last 3 years...

Even if he's not, it's an enormous ask for Federer to actually overtake him again, especially now that Nadal already has a Slam under his belt this season. Unless he's struck by lightning or something, it would take a virtual miracle for Nadal to not win the French Open, which would already give him the first two Slams of the season. Federer would then need to win both Wimbledon and the US Open just to tie Nadal in the Slams, and Roger doesn't have anywhere near the kind of security in those events that Nadal does with a Slam already won and another he's a virtual shoe-in for. Unless, again, something really bizarre happens, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray should all stand as serious rivals for Federer at Wimbledon and the US Open, and at this stage, Roger doesn't seem to be completely above suffering a freak upset either, given that floaters have extended him to five sets in three of the last five Grand Slam tournaments, and in the last one, Berdych was on the verge of finishing him off before his epic choke. I think it'there's still a good chance Federer will pull off either a Wimbledon or US Open title this season, but a #1 finish seems extremely unlikely to me.

Right now, I agree with several people that the Nadal-Federer-Murray-Djokovic-Roddick lineup is looking good, but since this is the most common pick on the thread, I don't imagine there's any great need to submit it.

This sounds about right, but I am not so sure that Djokovic will be able to keep ahead of Murray. If healthy, Murray should be #2.

Maybe for you but you definitely dont speak for all tennis fans and certainly not fans of federer. So the faster that fed wins, the easier it is for some tennis fans.

Roddick appears to be doing ok this year. Got to the semis in AO and he won a title recently. I think the fifth spot is probably the most competitive.
