Nicholas Almagro just busted his gut and played exceptionally well and hard to defend his Valencia crown, yet he moves down in the rankings!

Xavier Mallisse, who is injured did not play last week moves up! How are players supposed to derive reward from the ranking system and not be solely motivated by money if the system screws players like this.

There Almagro goes and plays his heart out to defend Valencia while Xavier stays at home and come Monday Nicholas Almagro is now ranked lower than Xavier Mallisse.

It just makes no possible sense to me.

    It cant be defensible.

He merely defended the points he won last year, so there really isn't a change. He could've lost points though but he didn't lose early.

waynesussman, you seem not to understand how ranking works. For the year to date reward, there is a RACE. Which, by the end of the year, will get importance.
