    Hehe.. No not my coach.

I have played against him and felt his serve/groundstrokes. I was the one who told Drakulie about him since I've seen him before. He is quite large (like a baseball player) I cannot say that his game is the best I've played, but I've been spoiled with playing great Pro players over my years. He definetly does one thing right: He wins on a national USTA level.

P.S. I posted his USTA rating above and his previous experiences, inlcuding getting on the cover of Tennis Magazine.

Some of you guys are *killing* me here! Sup posted who the guy was and his rating. This guy is winning national USTA tournaments. He is a 5.5. End of story.

^^^^correction. he is a computer rated 5.5. However, according to the NTRP guidelines, he is at least a 6.0 if not 6.5. :)

Hmmmm, then it is obvious we are missing some pieces based on the film provided.

There is no way in hell based on this film that he is a 5.5 player, not with that footwork.

I will simply have to take your word for it as all I have is three lousey clips. :)

^I agree, live play does not translate well to video. But make no mistake, this guy could flat out play and move. Not sure if you are aware but the guy in the vid is Andy Lake.

The warm-up you are seeing is from a doubles match, so he was staying in one place.

Here is a guy who played # 1 for UCLA??? a few years back. Again, a warmup for a doubles match. Nothing too impressive. But again, this guy has serious game.

6.0 This player will generally not need NTRP ratings.
Rankings or past rankings will speak for themselves. The 6.0 player typically has had
intensive training for national tournament competition at the junior
level and collegiate levels and has obtained a sectional and or
    national ranking

BTW, any chance you have a list of all the 6.0 players in his division??

Boy, are you eating your words yet? I love it how people on here are sooooo scared to rate a guy above 4.5. OMG, he is that good and that means I am sooo bad. You guys are ridiculous if you think he is anything below a 5.0. If you knew anything at all about tennis you would realize this guy would spank most of us on this board, regardless of what his strokes look like. You can have the prettiest strokes in the world and be the worst match player ever. His record speaks for itself. Nuff said! Period!

    Hooooon,
Both of these guys are currently rated 6.0.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EAHtVy4kAk

It was the finals for a challenger pre-qualifying open tournament.
The guy with the cap beat a guy that's currently ranked
about 1000 in the world 0 & 1 in the semis.

Both of them are in the top 45 for socal opens and would
almost certainly lose to people like Andy Lake and
    Oren Motevassel.

^^^nah, the guy in the red shirt missed an easy shot at 14 seconds. This at least makes him nothing more than a 3.5 LOL

Look, I don't know you, so don't take offense to what I'm going to say, but WTF are you talking about? Man, you really need to listen for 30 seconds before you just barge into a conversation and start telling everybody they're wrong. Your social skills border on retardation.

hmmm... so these guys are better than me because i'm not impressed? maybe my analysis is not perfect in the realm of youtube vids, but technically none of these players are good 6.0s. results are what matters, and i'd love to see how these guys do

if that's oren i eat (some of) my words. i've heard much of him and yes, he is a 6.5. but his age and height make his ability as tough to tell as any from video. lake seems almost as good from his results. they both win with their legs, brains and guts, neither hits even an average ball for 6.0.

Didn't Oren actually beat Andy in three in December?

Um, I don't think Andy Lake has much more to prove in the results department, but I'm not certain you are referring to him here or not.

All you have to is look at their results. Other posters have already stated their accomplishments. Certainly better than yours because you haven't posted anything about yourself. Easy to correct someone from your chair. Technically doesn't matter when you are ranked in the top ten in the nation. Get on the court with one of these guys and say that their game is "technically weak" and they will get you off the court before you can blink. Keep trying to come up with an excuse that explains your retardedness. I am anxiously awaiting a response from you.

Why don't you give us some results? If you really could beat players of that caliber, you wouldn't be making these ridiculous comments.

On the topic of old folks who can still play, I'll try to get a video of me losing a match tomorrow. Friggen mid fifties and he runs down balls that most college players I've played can't get to.

I need to get Andres Guazzelli in this thread. He can sniff out the "truth".

Oren is currently king of the USTA, he's beating everyone. Man does it for a living I heard.

In the words of Drakulie: "What you got?".

I would rate the guy 5.0 to 5.5, but in all honesty, rating someone based upon some limited footage is impossible. When I play someone I know I'm going to beat I am usually walking to balls, barely moving, etc. until and unless I start losing. LOL! Please don't film me when I'm barely motivated!

Not sure why you still have doubts. I was actually there at
    the tournament watching the match.
It was him. It was the finals of the pre-qualifying tournament
for a challenger tournament. Norman lost a tough 3 setter.
Look it up if you still don't believe me.

btw, would love to have a hit if you're ever up in the LA
    area.

I just watched the first link of his serve. 5.5 to 6.0 at least.

edit: okay, watched the other two links. Around 5.0.

Me, too, but if you're Greg Lee, you're way out of my league. Andy Roland used to play at my regular place. He was ranked as high as 27 or so in the Men's Open about 2 years ago. Casey of UC Santa Cruz, I know of him too, and Chris Lam was number 1 in seedings list briefly a while back. If you're this guy, yeah, then you could have hung with Oren a bit back in the day.

Guy in this vid played Hrbaty about two weeks ago and lost 6-4, 6-4. I sincerely doubt he is a 5.0.

If he couldn't even beat Hrbaty, then he would get slaughtered in a SoCal 4.0 league.

I'm talking about Andy Lake. I think there are a few vids of him posted in this thread.

I never realized two-bit pirates were so generous. Truth is, he wouldn't get out of the first round in a 3.0 league in So Cal. :)

I would agree with you. "Around" is the key word. I am sure he has some 6.0 moments and then some 4.5 moments as well.

He could be a lot better but his ball recognition skills seems a bit slow.

Lol, I busted your horns for rating Andy Lake 4.0, so now you go back and re-rate him?

You should have stuck to your guns buddy, your record shows that you definately have 5.0 stubborness (is that a word? and did I spell it right) but you netted this one ;)

I guess I dont know what your getting at. In the first post, I said 4.5 and a little higher. I just said 5.0 with 4.5 moments. Is there an issue?

I still would not rate the guy based on the video provided a 5.5. What you dont understand is I rated the video provided and nothing else. I do think he could have 6.0 moments. Do you know what that means? It means he could have flashes of brilliance. Why would that be so different then what I said before?

Are you hurt because I poked fun at your ego?
