So, I'm getting an RDS 002 pretty soon and just wanted to get some ideas on a good string setup for it. By the way, I'm talking about the standard 002, not the tour. I'd like to hear ideas from people who use this racquet. What has worked best for you?

I only added 6 grams of lead along the handle which was enough for me. It gives the racket a more solid and stable feeling and makes it easier to handle "heavy" balls.

That's cool, but I'm really more interested in hearing about string and tension setups.

Is that a straight SPPP job or do you hybrid? Also, which gauge of SPPP are you using?

I'm think going to try some Yonex 850 Pro in this racquet. I'm just not sure what tension to go with. Does this racquet feel boardy around 60 lbs. with a multi?

I use it with Prince XX Lightning (Black) 17g @ 60 lbs. Also gamma overgrips. Love the racquet.

has anyone else noticed how similar the rds 002 and the pro open are? i'd be very interested to know how they compare in real life, since their specs are so close.

Thanks for your feedback. Are you using the regular or tour version? Your signature says tour.

    RDS 002 Tour.
Trying to get a second one to try out string set-ups.
Currently string with NXT 16g @ 62lbs. Works well.

I don't see the RDS 002 - regular much around these forums.

Yeah, it seems like everybody is all about the tour. The tour looks good in the smaller grip sizes, but anything size 3 and up just seems too heavy. I'm kind of curious as to why Yonex would use that old style weighting system. Almost makes me think that the tour is just a repainted Ti-80. BTW can we all make this simple by assuming we're not talking about the tour version when the word tour is never mentioned? I don't understand why so many people automatically think tour when seeing RDS 002. I refuse to call it the light version because that's not what it's called. It's simple, there's the RDS 002 and the RDS 002 Tour.

I tried many strings with the Rds002tour and IMO the best is Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour 17 two way at 57 and 55 pounds.
