I string off and on for a 5.5 junior, who is definitely a string breaker. I recently got two Rebel 98's to string for him, which was the first time I'd seen him for a a couple months. He previously played only Babolat. His mother mentioned offhand that he had been breaking more strings than usual lately. I'm not sure if that coincides with when he switched to the Rebels. Today I got back one of the rackets for a restring. It had 4 broken mains, and seven broken crosses. I have never seen more than 2 strings broken at one time. Is that pretty unusual, or do other people see that many breaks occasionally? The weather here has been 40's & 50's, so not extremely cold, and I don't even know if it happened outside, as I didn't notice the number of breaks until I went to cut the strings out. Is it possible the racquet is complicit? Anyone else having more string breakage with this racquet than normal? I think the racquets are legit, because they are "loaners" from a sponsored player.
