Hey everyone.. I am a sophomore in high school and love(d) to play tennis, whether it be tournaments or training, it was always great. Latley however, I have different views toward the sport. My main goal used to be become a professional tennis player, I knew it was one of the hardest things to do, other people told me so also, but I wanted to percivere no matter what. After a visit to a popular tennis academy this past summer however, I was overwhelmed by the will, hard-work, and determination some of these kids put in. I gave it my all at the academy, but coaches, including the main owner of the academy, insisted there was a tiny chance of playing at the professional level, but strong chance for college tennis at good level. You could say this kind of upset me, and maybe this is why I've been having mixed feelings about the sport latley. I have spent more time having fun and partying on the weekends, and just having fun and not really giving it my all on the tennis courts during practice... I kind of lost love for the game, and don't enjoy playing really at all. I still want to however play college tennis, low DII or DIII level, only because it would be kind of silly to give up and start something different two years away from applying for scholarships and what-not into colleges. I had good rankings and results in the 14's ex: top 100 in section, #1 in region.. didn't have much expirence during the 12's (started playing at age 11) and haven't played much (about 8 tournaments) in the 16's divison. I just turned 15 so I still have a lot of time left, but tennis has been a drag these past two or three months. I don't want to play tournaments on weekends because I usually have plans set with lots of friends to hang out, and practice is o.k., but I don't like it like I used to. And, to add to the problem, I've never been a good practice player, I've always performed best in matches and under pressure, therefore the constant bad attitude towards tennis and the lousy practice play doesn't really spark me back into the sport anymore. Has this happend to any of you? What did you do or any suggestions on what I should do? Thanks in advance, everybody

Tennis has so much to offer at any level. Remember the slogan for the Army? You don't have to join the Army to subscribe to the slogan... Dude, Be all you can be.
