USC has live streaming of the Future event so they must have finally got video fixed after having it 3 years ago but not the last few. Good picture and sound but no scoreboard though maybe they'll have that during the season when it's all USC guys.

He took a break from playing, and has been coaching at Advantage Tennis Academy I believe. Not sure if the hiatus was injury related

Buchanan got some redemption beating Lokoli in straight sets, 2 & 3. Lokoli beat him 0 & 0 in one of the Fall Challengers last year.

Laurent Lokoli will be known for that double bagel. But mostly for the dance-off with the Monf...turn down for what?

Lokoli won that dance off. Monfils had the crowd in his back pocket with physical tricks but Lokoli was the better dancer

Former collegians will contest the doubles final at the New Caledonia $75K Challenger.

Jarmere Jenkins and Bradley Klahn have won a match tiebreaker in each round, including over the #2 seeds. Tennys Sandgren and Austin Krajicek are seeded #4 and beat the #1 seeds.

American college tennis is where doubles skills are learned these days.

Hope he and Brad are able to come to Memphis.

He's in the finals. Won 6-1 in the 3rd.

Read an interesting article recently online where the author had him listed as one of the top 10 US prospects. Along with guys like Tiafoe, Fritz, Kozlov, etc. What was interesting to me was that the author had DB listed higher than CA, who's beaten him the last few times they've played, and who's had better results, up until this final, of course

We are used to CA not getting the respect he deserves, under the radar, darkhorse. You'd think they woulda learned by now.

In fact, look at the head to head vs all the guys in your list. I think he's undef against all of em as well as the guys on his team

Time will tell, but i have a feeling as to where the story will lead.

Now we got this going on which is going to be great exp. Go UVA Hoos, bring it!

It would be interesting if he and Rubin renewed their rivalry, now that theyre both in the ACC, and then on to the pros.

No chance, ca is a great player but he will get stuck playing 3-5 at uva, wish he would have come to Florida where he could play 1, surely competition out weighs anything u can do in practice

So, just read this on Twitter.

DB won the singles at USA F3. 3-6, 7-6, 6-4. Think that was his 3rd 3 setter of the tourney. Apparently he's with USTA PD at least part of the time while he's in Florida. Saw a pic tweeted referencing him, Opelka, and 1 or 2 other up and comers

Edit: All of his matches went 3 sets

That is awesome! Congrats to DB and his crew. Two 7-5 third set wins and a 6-4 third in the final, way to battle!

I came here to post this, thanks for sharing. Congrats to DB and Brad.
Wonder how that crow is tasting to TCF about now? HAHA! If he had the guts to come back here he'd still say something silly like he needed to be winning these when he was 15/16. Something that would apply to the game 25 years ago.

TCF i don't think is tasting crow, but I was wrong on one thing for sure

couple years ago, i guess it was at this point, I said it was more than likely he would never win a futures singles title - wrong on that one today - and would have never guessed he would gut out his first title in so many 3-setters, congrats to him

as far as him becoming a guy who makes a living on the pro tour some day (per the brad vs TCF and others debate from back then) - how does winning a futures tournie where the highest ranked player he beat (the 6 seed in the second round) was 450 in the world change things?

that debate is still very much to be determined in the coming years...

note - the above is my only comment on DB until he reaches another milestone such as winning a challenger or qualifying for a GS main draw - since discussions of him already contributed to killing off one large subsection of the TW forums and i'm not up for the college forum going the way of the junior forums

Completely valid pt. Its a heck of an accomplishment to win a Futures title at his age, definitely a testament to all the work he's put in.

However, for comparison, I believe Bangoura won a Futures title last year sometime. He still hasnt 'graduated' to the Challenger level yet, and I think he lost early in the 1st two Futures this yr, and has had, basically, erratic results.

So, no, this title doesnt guarantee a successful pro career.

But its still a great accomplishment.

DB has been making steady progress and his ranking and results show it.

Barring some major injury, if he continues to improve, it's possible he could keep improving until he makes the top 100 or beyond.

Congrats to DB and how on earth can anybody say it is not impressive? For an 18 year old it sure is, another hope of US tennis made it to semis of that tournament and I thought that was great too. Winning any tournament is impressive, winning a pro tournament is impressive, what more do you people want?

    odesnik took it in straights

seems to be one of the toughest transitions that cunha is in the midst of right now - where you've done well in futures and now have the ranking to get into challenger main draws - but very tough to win challenger main draw matches and you can thus fly from challenger to challenger without picking up atp points

hope he finds a way to break through and find some success on the challenger tour, but i don't know if it's in the cards - have to be careful you don't go too long without points and slide back into the futures-type rankings also

Watch the rise of Jason Jung,
Although some say he is not ready,
I think he passes Donald Young,
And all predicted by our Feddy.

    You're welcome.

today kozlov beat american veteran michael russell in straights, he's really looking good

annnddd, top seeded kudla goes down in three sets, and absolutely demolishes his racquet on the court before throwing it out of the stadium into the parking lot after missing his return on match point (worth a look at the live stream recording for a laugh)

He and fellow alum O'Hare had a good fall on the Futures Circuit, most notably doubles. Look for more from them this spring.
