    Guys,

Finally found a polyester that I like with good feel (not mushy or muted at the same time not harsh) and good tension maintenance.
I strung it up in a Volkl Org 10 MP with Technifibre biphase 18 on the cross and it feels sweet. Very good feed back and feel. Tried it with the Technifibre NRG and it was too mushy feeling.

Problem is that the Biphase is just costly. Do you have any recommendations on alternatives?
I was looking at Alpha 2000 gut and Gosen Micro-Sheep. What do you guys think? Or do you have alternatives that are much more friendly on the pocket.

    Thanks!

Natural gut if you have the money or a nice multi like Wilson sensation

Gut in the crosses in a waste of two good cows. Gut goes in the mains no question. Plus, the friction of poly mains with gut crosses is so high that poly will shred gut to pieces. Check TW University on that matter.

Head RIP Control and Prince Premier Attack are two multis that should give you some decent bang for your buck. Your string bed may get a little more backbone with a synthetic gut in the crosses and I'm partial to Tecnifibre these days. Wonderful crisp feel, but not the clunky harshness that I get with 16 ga. Prince syn. gut with Duraflex. I've also sampled Forten Sweet 16 and the rumors are true in terms of the softness of that syn. gut.

Perhaps a thicker gauge Multi like NRG would feel nice. Why not go full 4G since it is softer than all other Luxillon strings?

For me, Luxilon is way too underpowered for me. Probably it's the tension but I'm still looking for a cross to make it more powerful.

You ain't kiddin'. I'm trying 4GS right now and I think it's lower powered than Ash Crossfire 16 (strung with 16g poly cross)!

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.
I do feel it to be a little underpowered but perhaps also a function of the tension which I've strung at 48lbs and given the good tension maintenance of both mains and cross, tension is still holding well. I like the sweetness of the feel so I will drop 3lbs on the next string job.

My goal of looking for another cross is mainly to lower costs as the biphase is just too costly.

I am leaning (at the moment) towards a 1.20mm guage - something like the alpha 2000, gosen og-micro or the forten sweet.

I've tried the NRG but it felt too mushy.

Will have a look at the Head RIP control and Prince Premiere Attack.

But first choice would be something towards a synthetic string given its lower cost.

    Thanks guys
    Search continues.

Try Forten Sweet 16 or 17. It plays almost as well as some multis but the price is much nicer.

AlphaGut2000 is my choice for a hybrid with poly.
