Del Potro was serving 130+ into his backhand, can't really hit offensive returns when a guy is serving that big.

Yeah I wonder how successful Lendl was returning huge servers back in the 80s.

  4. You cant hit offensive backhand returns when 130 + mph bombs comes flying, and he shouldnt slice them either, he needs to try to block them like Agassi always did

Federer is normally able to block Roddick's serve back - even this year at AO, JMDP serve shouldn't be too much of a problem. Maybe Federer should just change his position alittle.

Against Delpo's Serve? come on he needs an UN Peace equipment to avoid injuries

I think he needs slicing more against Delpo and avoid running forehand.

An offensive BH return to Del Potro's serve means: ball to the parking lot.

He should just hit a clean winner off it so he can save his energy for his service game :)

Pretty easy if you ask me, not sure why im not coaching on the pro tour.

Not to mention they're playing in an indoor, low bounce surface.

Even for Federer that's asking a bit too much.

Del Potro's serve also have a explode up at a higher angle because he's 6'6!

On a 130mph first serve, no. Blocking back is the only option. On a 90 mph second serve? Back up a little bit and hit the ball with some topspin. Roger's decision to float the ball back on all delpo's second serves basically gave delpo full control over all baseline rallies on Delpo's serve. It's why Fed had only two break chances the whole match.

I agree, every time he did that after the 1st set i wanted to take a sledgehammer and break my computer monitor because it was completely annoying to watch.

The backhand to backhand rallies that he would have with del po, not even trying to move him pissed me off
