I've looked at loads of different sites and have googled it but can't find reels of Babolat Natural Gut anywhere.....do they come in reels or only packets?

    Any help?

    Cheers.

Only packets, although they are working on a cow with a 600ft intestine.

I believe it takes more than one cow to produce a set of natural gut if im not mistaken. Therefore 660ft could be done but it would be a very bad idea. The string would not stay good. It would just shrivel up unravel and go bad. There is a reason it only comes in single packs that are sealed from air and light. Plus who in the right mind would want to spend over $600 or $700 for a reel of anything?

^^^^^^^^ that's because they use the intestines of several cows to intertwine them in order to make one 40+ ft set.

I guess you could techincally wrap many strands together, not end to end, but half and half.
like take one strand and put it half way up another strand, then take anotehr and palce it on the remaining half, and twist them like taht. but a reel is unreasonable. too expensive and might get ruined while shipping and such

It takes approximately 3 cows to make 1 set of natural gut (40ft).

Time out, why would you even buy a reel? Let's just do some quick math:
    1 set of Babolat Tonic + Natural Gut= $32
    1 reel= 660 feet
    1 full package of strings= 40 feet
    660/40= 16.5
    so 16.5 x 32= 528
Then make it a little cheaper than the packets, it woul dbe around 500 ish bucks, that's hell of a lot for one reel

If you want the reel of natural gut in order to save money on hybriding, try STRAY CAT GUT! You pick up the Cats at rescue shelters, google directions for cat intestine removal, and go to work!!

It might take several cows to make the 40 ft lengthwise. But I would guess that multiple sets of 40ft each could be made from the same number of cows.

I have never produced gut strings but I have purchased intestine for consumption. There's plenty of intestinal lining there for multiple, multiple sets.
