Does anyone know how to get prescription sunglasses as shown in this thread?

Particularly the Flak Jacket XLJ Asian Fit; my head is rather small and I need prescription glasses too.

Could your regular optometrist make some for you? Mine has offered to make some for me and he did my prescription lenses for my Bolle inserts.

I've also used this site to take old glasses frames and have new prescription lenses put in them and I think they will do sunglasses as well. The glasses turned out great and cost about $100 for scratch resistant Trivex replacement lenses. I could have got them cheaper but I'm a big Trivex lens fan and they are more expensive.

I got prescription sunglasses from my optometrist. He had a special with sunglasses 50% off so I got some nice Oakley frames. I live in a sunny part of the country so the sunglasses help out a lot.

I suppose the optometrist could, but mine were sent to Oakley to be made.

It depends in your RX. If it's too high then you will have to get prescription lenses for the latter more traditional flatter sunglass lens because the wrap around may cause too much warping in vision at the corner. Companies like Oakley will not do wrap around lenses for high prescription for the above reason.

But if you've got a really high prescription and insist on a wrap around, optical shops have their own suppliers who can make their own lenses to be fitted onto the Oakley frames. And they will probably do it for you.
