For the past three years, I have been less than optimistic about Federer's opportunities to win another Grand Slam.

That being said, I find it is helpful to remind myself of some of his extraordinary achievements that I can not imagine will ever be duplicated.

3 Grand Slams in one year - three times
4 Grand Slam finals in one year - three times
4 Grand Slam semifinals in one year - five times
11 tournaments won in a year - 3 consecutive years

The most ridiculous stat is reaching 18 major finals out of 19 majors, from 2005 Wimbledon to the 2010 Australian Open. Lendl is second on all-time list for number of major finals reached at 19, and Federer reached 18 out of 19! Although, of course, we have to take into account the circumstances from past eras with the professional/amateur split, all the political disputes etc.

I didn't know winning 11 tournaments in a year was such a big deal. Nadal did that as a teenager.

It's not. You must have missed the part where it clearly states that he did it for three consecutive years. But that's ok. I get that reading comprehension isn't a troll's strong suit.

So you admit its not a big deal. Do it 3 times and, still not a big deal.

Federer's records are no more impressive than other player's records.

Borg for example has won 90% of his matches in 4 different years. Has won the Channel Slam 3 times. Has been ranked number one in six different stretches between 1977 and 1981. But nobody is going to make a thread about that.

Why don't you go ahead and make a thread about Borg. I will suggest a title to you:
"Borg: The greatest clay courter ever".

Yes it is. How many players have done it 3 straight times?

Nadal did one time and plenty of past great players have done it at least one time.

This guy deserved the Slam three times over. If only Rafa was born 10 years later...

Fed has 23, but back then it was at 22 and his record is rank in the top five greatest individual streaks in history.

*Roger Federer, 22 consecutive Grand Slam semifinals
*Joe DiMaggio, 56 consecutive baseball games with a hit
*Tiger Woods, 142 consecutive cuts made
*Cal Ripken, 2,632 consecutive games played
*Edwin Moses, 122 consecutive 400-meter hurdle victories

Where does Federer's semifinal streak rank in sports history?

However, if Rafa was born 2-3 years sooner, Federer would most likely own 3-4 fewer slams.

And he does it all with class, no gamesmanship, cheating, fake timeouts, time wasting, while being loved the world over, winning sporstmanship awards and giving back to others.

Wrong. Federer would have menally broken Nadal and we'd be talking about 35+ Slam victories for Federer. People always forget Nadal was always younger than Federer. Same age, him and Novak would be crippled by fear against the Swiss.
