removing bumperguard

    hopw can i remove the bumper guard on a racquet to put some lead tape under it.also, how can i replace it

    You need to do this in between stringing... cut out all the strings and then gently pop up the bumper guard... apply tape and then restring. You can push on some of the grommets or work along the edges to gently pry up the bumper. It's incredibly tedious to do if you're experimenting--much better to put it on the inner side of the hoop beside the grommets unless you're sure you want that lead under the bumper.

    Sometimes the grommet or bumper holes may become deformed due to stringing and tie off knots. Sometimes, you may have to use a hair dryer to help remove those troublesome areas. An awl will be very helpful as well.
