I have been replacing overgrips time after time and decide to put a leather grip for the base layer.
I have discovered that there are staples.
Do I remove the one sticking out and do I need to place one as well?

you should remove the staple that held the original grip down as it might stick out a bit when you put the leather grip on.. if you bought the TW leather, the under side of the grip has adhesive that will stick to the grip so there is no need to staple the replacement grip
