Maybe some tough luck getting Almagro in the 2nd round. What ever the case he's going to need a good FO to stay around the top 10.

Almagro playes just like him and he's 5 years younger. So, Robredo had it difficult.

They do play pretty similarly, but Almagro has way more action/pace on his serve and hits bigger on everything else as well. Basically, Almagro seems like he just plain hits the ball better. Robredo is a more consistent competitor and constructs points very well, but I think this match showed that Almagro simply has more game.

Robredo looks like a nice guy, one of my favorites in the top 10.

I remember watching Almagro in Cinci last year in person and the guy looked plain slow. I couldn't believe a clay courter was as leadfooted as he was on that day. He certainly looked a lot better today! Very clean, impressive ball striking on Almagro's part.

Oh shut up. There were 63 other dudes in the draw last year that didn't have Nadal in it. Robredo took advantage. He's a mofo on clay and will probably be in the quarters of the FO....again.
