Rochus is an inspiration for us shorter players

I must say that I was very impressed with the play of Olivier Rochus this week.
He is short in stature but huge with heart.
He puts everything into every point, and can get back shots thought unplayable.
What a great inspiration for tennis players on the shorter side.
Can you imagine how great a player he would have been with another 6" to his height.

maybe he would not have as much heart if he was 6"2. short people tend to be often harder fighters (and more aggressive persons) since they are often overlooked and bullied in school.

this is also called the napoleon complex while tall people tend to be more relaxed, laid back and indifferent because they are respected just because of their height and build. they dont have to work as hard.

What I like is that Olivier isn't an extremely defensive player. He actually likes to come in and hit volleys, plays attacking while he can. He's not a Michael Chang kind of player by any means.

That's correct, a great doubles player btw.
That said, the man has a great defense when he needs to.

Neither one of the points you make are necessarily true. Aggressiveness and heart have nothing to do with height.

and taller people often seem to feel entitled, but lets not generalise..

silly discussion

Rochus is great, as is David Ferrer. (has there ever been a 'shorter' ATP final?)
