roddick vs hewitt *spoiler*

    i think roddick lost the match on purpose cos he didn't want to face and lose to federer again. To him, it's more comforting losing to hewitt than to the supposedly "rival" federer.....

    I wonder if Gilbert advised Roddick to attack Hewitt at net or if this was something Roddick came up with on his own. I know they have been working on trying to get Roddick to close out points at net. But closing out a point is different than attacking the net at every chance.

    Rushing the net against one of the best counter-punchers in the game without being very comfortable with volleys is not such a good idea. Maybe it's a good strategy against Henman to take away the net and force him to pass from the baseline, but not against Hewitt. Gilbert is supposed to be some strategic expert...
