I think it's just tennis fashion to be honest. Many tennis players (especially myself) like to dress a certain way when they get on the court, and others don't really care. It's just a matter of preference.

Cotton clothing is the absolute worst type of material to wear for tennis.

After you start sweating it gets heavy, sticky, stinky, and soaked. Most quality performance oriented tennis apparel is made of some type of polyester (possibly blended with nylon and/or cotton).

It makes a huge difference for socks, underwear, and head gear as well.

EDIT: Judging from the location in your profile I am guessing you dont have a lot of days over 80 degrees Fahrenheit so you probably sweat a lot less than people in regions like myself. In the winter time around here I can get away with wearing cotton sometimes on the cooler days.

I like the feel of cotton, and feel uncomfortable in synthetic fabrics...believe me I have tried all sorts dri fit, sweatproof ....blah blah blah whatever marketing name du jour. If it gets really hot I loose the shirt. To each his own I guess. I Also think its kinda lame when you see guys sporting the latest gear every other week, and can't hit a ball to save their lives.

also, it says to people that you support that player, like how the baseball, football, hockey fans would wear the hats/jackets of their favorite teams.

I have tried loosing the shirt before but people are really snooty about it and start complaining. Since most of the time I am playing at some sort of tennis center and not a public park I cant get away with no shirt.

Yes it is pretty funny to see a Roger or Rafa dress up doll come out on court and then not know how to hit a ball.

I have to agree with you, it's actually pretty funny when you see guys in really expensive gear and can't keep a ball in play.

    Miami 2009 shirt? Bay, sometimes.
    NYC Day shirt? Bay, always.
NYC shoes? Don't think the ones with the specific New York skyline were available retail but the shoe (lunar vapour, flywire bla bla bla) were. Same shoe he wore all 2010 but in that black/blue trim colour.

Well I just don't want to be a walking advertisement if no one is paying me to be. On another note In todays economy there are a lot of people out there who are struggling and cannot afford expensive clothes, I'm glad you find that so amusing

So you play naked then??? because if you use a racquet you are advertising them, the same with shoes, shirts and shorts so dont be ignorant. And on another note, i'm not Amused by that, no way!!! but if they are struggling they shouldnt be spending there money playing tennis, and they are other option for buying tennis clothes than retail price. But whatever, that's why i work, to spend my moneyyyyy!!!

Can't decide if FedHenry is trolling or an idiot. I'm a cotton t-shirt guy, as well. It's not always about having the money to buy the clothes. Sometimes it's about being sensible and not wanting to spend $60 on a shirt just because it has a damn check on it. Additionally, for me at least, it's about not looking like a chode by dressing up as my favorite player as if it were Halloween.

I play shirtless sometimes. This caused problems because of my lanky build and lack of exposure to the sun. I play on a neighborhood court and some of the local mothers informed the authorities that I may be malnourished and neglected. I'm 24, so when they questioned me about it, it was determined that there was nothing anyone could do.

One punctuation mark per sentence please. I've had bad experiences with this in the past.

Are you a relative of John Henry?

IMO the GOOAT, followed by USO night '07, Miami '09, FO '09, and Wimbledon '08.

Overall IMO '09 was his best year for outfits -- some of 'em are just absolute legends.

I did like the FO 08 shirt very well, although I can't comment on the material because I never saw that shirt in person.

People, please!!This thread is about Fed's apparel, that is it. Nobody wants to hear if you wear a cotton t-shirt or play nude. Just keep on topic and express what Fed apparel you like or don't like. Yeah, it's that simple.

Yep, FedHenry called it. I wish I'd taken a photo of this shop (in Phnom Penh). They even had quite good posters with Fed and Nadal wearing the shirts/variants of the fake shirts - quite good marketing effort really. I'd say they had that shirt in about 6 colour variations and they had the 2010 Aussie Open Nadal shirts (originally in orange and red) in black, blue, green, white.

I'm due to pass near that place again mid year so will be interested to see what they have. I've worn the ones I bought many times and they've held up as well as any legit items I've bought basically (how hard is it to make a shirt really?)

Re: Fakes from Asia. They're all from Asia fake or legit. I think the point is some people take advantage of their country's lack of intellectual property laws.

I've looked around and never seen any complete fake designs on the bay like this -I thought they got kicked off if people complained about it. To be honest, as much as I don't like to support rip-offs like this, sometimes the designs are cool and the price so cheap you may as well buy one if they happen to be right in front of you while you're travelling.

Great site for old pics that one. I wonder why Nike doesn't go back and put out those Nike shirts Fed wore but weren't available and also the ones that you could buy but didn't have the RF, from I believe 07-10, it seems as though plenty of people would buy them.
