Hello Equijet,
I hope you will be able to answer a few of my questions below since I reckon you're the authority of the subject ...
1) I was among the first batch of customers in Asia to play with the Asian version K90. On the side of the frame it says "Karbon Black". Later Wilson changed it to "Karophite Black" (I was heard an Austrian ski company owns the name Karbon hence Wilson had to ditch it and to replaced with Karophite) and I also bought 2 more brand new Asian version K90 with "Karophite Black" . Later I also bought another "Karbon Black" version in Singapore which was a new demo with a red head guard. And I swear the Karbon versions offers a much softer feel than the Karophite version and their balance are also different. Karbon version has a slightly lighter racket head (i.e. better control)
I have also bought the 340 gram US version. A used "Karbon" from exxx and a brand new "Karophite" from TW. But they feel/play exactly the same with no difference in balance.
Wonder if you know anything more about this or is it just my own imagination
?
Another question I have is on the exact spec that Roger plays with. I bought a Roger Federer limited editon N Code racket from Japan (obviously there're 4 holes on the PWS instead of 5 of the retail version as you know) and it's a 340 gram racket. However, when Wilson released the next limited RF edition of the K90 in Japan(together with the opening of the Aussie Open), it's a 320 gram version. So I am just confused. Does he use a 320 g version and add lead tape depending on the situation or he just stick with the 340 g version and that's it?
Obviously everyone in the worlds knows you have a very cool collection. I have a very humble collection of my own too. A Radical Tour used by Agassi in one of his Davis Cup win. Also a Bosworth GTX Pro T used by Lendl for practice. I have tried both and they are VERY different from the retail version. Hope you've tried to play some of yours because not many people have that opportunity you know .....
Cheers!
