    Look who's getting all defensive...

He should still be able to speak French better than he does. I mean, he couldn't even say the word 'improvise' which is practically the same.

I just let it slide. He had better and bigger things to do than to polish his French. Actually his French got better this year. Finally won one.

I'm not getting defensive,I am answering some ridiculous comments that's all.
Yes,so he couldn't find this world at that moment. So from this, you conclude that he must not speak french good enough.Especially like a Swiss.Like all Swiss in your mind must speak perfect German and French and Italian.

Well in the real world, most of the Swiss can NOT speak all three for their country's languages.Wawrinka for example can't speak a word in German.
Fed's family do not speak french, and in his town they don't either. He had to learn french at the age of 15 when he moved to the french speaking part of the country to train in an academy.

Basel is located in between Germany and FRANCE, there is no excuse for his poor French. I think you need a Geography lesson.

No, no, no. What is YOUR point? Federer doesn't speak French well. I've been to Basel and almost everyone i came across spoke French 100x better. Don't delude yourself.

Uhm...thats besides the point of this thread. When Roger was young not many people must've been speaking French in Basel and area around because he first learned the language when he went to the French-speaking part of the country at 14.
He might've had it at school in Basel as a second or third language but I havent heard any mention of it.
And he's got different things to do than polishing his French. As long as he gets his thoughts across in the language that is all that matters.
Not to mention he sounds incredibly adorable while doing so.

BTW-A good part of Swizerland lies between France and Germany, dosent it? Should we assume everybody in that area is fluent in both languages?
    duuuh....
Also, there are many French- speaking fans I know and they dont think Roger's French is bad at all.

yes I speak basic French and I speak German as well.
And I'm here posting in English, while I'm not from England or USA as well.

The one who repeatedly fails and humiliates themselves with their ignorance in this thread is only you.

Why are you persistently talking about something that does NOT matter in the first place? The only one who went totally besides the point in this thread is you.

You have already noted that you speak 'basic' French for one. And that is enough for anyone with a brain to realise that you are in no position whatsoever to judge someone's else's French. I am French, but live in England. Again, you make zero sence. Ignorance at its finest.

Yes, it doesn't really matter. But it's still the truth. Malakas however thinks he/she can judge someone's language eventhough he/she can barely speak it.

I'm swiss and been in Basel, Geneva, Zurich, Bern and many other places in the country and I can assure you that Federer's french is very good for someone that grew up in the german speaking part of Switzerland.

it seems that "anyone with a brain" is differently defined in your world than in mine..since you consider yourself to pocess one.

YOU started judging Fed's french, claiming that EVERY swiss must speak perfect french and that since Basel is next to France every citizen of Basel should speak it perfectly.
And yes someone who knows basic French can judge.

You have just put words in my mouth. I NEVER said that every Swiss must speak perfect French. Pretty cheap shot...

I don't think i will even reply to this since it just emphasizes the level of stupidity you consist of.

*sigh* This was supposed to be nice and fun thread about federer singing and being a dork, not "let's criticize fed's french". Remind me not to share anything, I find interesting with you peepz.

Tell me how that matters. Many people who speak French have no problem whatsoever with Roger's French. Why do you even care? Why bring it up in a thread that had nothing to do with how fluently he speaks a language?
Roger is not perfectly fluent in English either, there are better English-speaking Swiss. There are times when he dosent know a certain meaning or struggles to find the right words to express himself correctly.Who cares?
