(from training in Monte Carlo)
Vapor V clay alert! ;-)
He's wearing the same jacket he wore in miami, this time in blue. I want it badly.
I reckon he's just wearing the V's for practice.
Yeah, i reckon he'll switch.
I know, tis a nice jacket
I wouldn't be so sure about that.... :?
We will see what he wears during his matches.
cool shoes, anymore pics.
It's refreshing to see a man who doesn't shave his legs or wear ankle socks nowadays.
^is that nick bolleterri?
^^^No I think it's Mikhail Youzhny and his coach
That shoe is too white. it's gonna get dirty too quick.
He can do anything he wants, he's Roger Federer and Nike will give him all the shoes he wants forever.
Those vapors look much nicer than i thought they were
they look sick!!
correct - they are !!
looks like the vapor Vs he wore at RG08, except with white laces?
V's all the way!
I wouldn't be surprised if he wore those in matches, if you look closely you can see that the inside of the shoe has the same matching color (sky blue/aqua/whatever nike calls it) as the bandana and wrist band, and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that's a new color for Nike this year for summer.
Looks like he is wearing v's against seppi now.
Correct, how could Nike let him do this. :S
Murray ain't sponsored by nike and he's wearing the VI's
yeah just noticed now whilst watching his monte match...
the vapor v is from last year to match the light blue shirt
they are the vapor V he wore at this tournament last year. remember? he had that baby blue polo on. check out the heel of the shoe its baby blue
and also they arent the RG 08 cause he had black laces. exact same style... just with black laces and the heel wasnt blue
Don't you mean bad?
A possibility may be that he announced Monte Carlo participation really last minute so Nike didn't have time to get new shoes for him.
Hmmm I noticed this yesterday when I saw a picture of him in practice. Prolly he's not satisfied with the VI after 3 tournaments? Makes me really wonder though.
Man me too! wish they would sell it online!
oh dear...
but they Vapors match perfectly with the rest of his outfit
When he decide to get in the tornament ?? if you see the draw he have a WC next to his ranking , i don't understand why.. some body can explain that??
Well they've got the pale blue on aswell, so nike must have done them especially. Maybe additional support for the clay?
Well as far as I remember a week before the tournament. MC is a non-mandatory masters so top players are not required to commit to this tournament unlike the other masters event. As far as the WC is concern, Fed did not commit to this event before the start of the season hence he was not included in the main draw. Fed was offered a WC and accepted it so he has WC after his ranking.
I think Nike didn't have the right color way for his clay apparel (VI is Sterling blue) not including FO, this is I think the reason he has to use the Vapor V since it matches his apparel completely.
In that pic, look at Roger's left leg, he's wearing two pairs of socks.
Maybe for added comfort??
looks like the obsidian trim from the RG08 shoes, the light blue inside and heel match the new outfit, so i think it's a newly designed shoe.. I *really* hope they're bringing back the vapor V, i have a pair of the rg08 shoes and they're the best ever.. the VI has had so many problems, why not stop that line and bring back what works?
In all pictures of Fed I've seen of him this year he double-socked his right foot. Probably comfort. Why else?
That would be a marketing nightmare.
The VI definitely looks like it was rushed. The design is cool but functionally I've heard really bad things. Next version should be better.
Dunno, but he always has. habit?
to protecd his ankels from injuries...
They have braces for that, like the ones A-Rod wears all the time.
I don't agree. If you'll look at post #23 it is definitely the same including the skyblue trim.
Yes, but his goes over the sock,
Feds is probably an ankle sleeve.
Federer did wear an ankle brace for a few tournaments a few years ago
I think he uses it to prevent foot blisters
just for more cushioning...
He doesn't use it for ankle support.
It's ironic that Fed's gone back to the 5's for clay and Murray(with not shoe contract) who uses different shoes for different surfaces is using the vapor 6....to much better effect
Maybe Nike has decided to stop the marketing of the new vapors until they solve this problem.

^^^exactly.. maybe it's a marketing nightmare as someone called it to bring back the V's, but I think it's MORE a marketing/product nightmare to keep producing the VI's.. not only the spots but there's clearly performance/pain problems with the shoes.. admit a mistake, issue refunds and go back to what's tried, tested & loved by many.. anyhow, just glad to see roger wearing V's and a little glimmer that maybe they're not dead yet.
