The match is but a formality. The only relevant questions are if Nadal will break a sweat and how many games Berdych can take off Nadal.

Thomas Berdych, has been chosen from our Son of God, our savior, Novak Djokovic, to be the destroyer of the one they call, Rafael "the axis of evil" Nadal.

He will make history tomorrow by dethroning this hooligan of terrorism and saving mankind for us, the people of freedom.

What do they call Berdych nowadays? "The People's Champion"?

^^ The hero of the free peoples is tiring Nadal out but Berdych will switch to pigeon mode tomorrow unlike the way he played vs SOG today.

Didn't ya'll say that Djoker beating Berd was a formality as well? If Berd could break his 10-match losing streak to Djoker, he can break his losing streak against Nadal too. He eventually ended his losing streak against Fed too a few years back.

Nadal is not a mere mortal like Fed and Djoker. Mere mortals don't make 7/7 finals and win 5 titles after coming back from a 7 month break to take care of a career threatening injury.

may you be right... the tennis world needs to be delivered from the yoke of the shameful oppressions by the evil topspin axis forces. the chosen one has to put an end to these obscure times of domination by ugly tennis, dirty cheating and disgusting antics ! [IMG]

Didn't see Berdych vs Novak today, but it seems to be Rafa will win due to Berdych's choking.

If Berdych was hitting as cleanly as he did at the end of the match today, he has a chance. But I would take Nadal in 3 (not in straights because he is probably tired).

milady, you've been predicting Rafa to win all his matches in 2 quick sets. So far, he has been struggling like an asthmatic 70 year-old trying to satisfy a seasoned prostitute.

Clarky, if you're out of whacko ideas to post , try this one : "There is no way Nadal is winning this because Cvac will play him in the SF disguised as Berdych"

The way I see it is if Berdych is ever going to get another win over Nadal he probably has to beat him here, even keeping in mind it is clay. Nadal will amost never be worse than he is right now, atleast not before Berdych is in the twilight years of his career which are upcoming given his age anyway. Add to that coming off what has to be a huge confidence and momentum boosting win by beating Djokovic, his other Nadal like nemisis. So if Berdych cant beat Nadal now in this vurnerable state, coming off a win over Djoker, he probably never will again on any surface; not even indoors.

Nadal will probably still win and forever shut Berdych mentally out of having any hope in this matchup for good if that happens, but this is Berdych's best chance in many years. For his own sake he had better capatilize.

Not a chance. Nadal has demonstrated iron will recently, and his hunger is still phenomenal. That alone is enough to derail Berdych. Nadal will slaughter him in straights.

Nadal is currently #1 in the ATP race. If he wins Rome he'll be up on DJ by nearly 700 points.

Well Berdych ended one embarrassing losing streak today, so there's no reason why he can't do the same tomorrow. Still take Rafa in two though, something like 7-6 6-3.

I think Berdych has a very good shot of beating Nadal. His horrible big serve/forehand style as well as his willingness to volley means he does have a shot. Also, he seems to be doing pretty well at the moment so...
