And RFederer's 20th loss to RNadal. That's some symmetry. 20 finals with RNadal, 20 losses to RNadal. :p

Fed has got this in the bag, imo. Nadal is far from being the player he once was, and since Fed is a far superior player, he will win the final. After watching the way Nadal has been playing, I have absolutely zero faith in him at all. He won't even win a set with his current level.

heart says Fed, head says Nadal, most likely in two. Especially given that Fed apparently was wearing that shirt against his bad back again today. And only served one ace, while Rafa was on fire with both his forehand and his passing shots.

I'm amazed that you've made it 10,000 garbage posts and you've fooled most of Talk Tennis into thinking you're actually an RNadal fan. In reality, you're only angry because your idol, NDjokovic, lost to TBerdych (who is proving to be a great clay-court player). Then again, this is Talk Tennis, and RNadal mentally owns everyone on Talk Tennis to the extent that they become paranoid about everything. :p

Do you realize how wrong you've been in the Berdych match? If its a jinx effort, I respect that.

I guess some do, otherwise your thread wouldn't've been taken off.

I remember someone made a Djokovic-Nadal 2011 FO match thread before the Federer-Djokovic match even started. Your attempt was nearly on the same level.

I hope you get to enjoy the two last clay events, cause after that Nadal will disappear like he always does when real tennis is about to be played on hard courts. I can already see the Fed/Nole final in Cincy, gonna be an epic.

umm, rafa played brilliantly vs berdych today (much better than the gulbis/ferrer matches ) , fed was meh vs paire . His serving was mediocre. he had only once ace and 4 DFs .

you need to wake up to reality.

if you had asked before today, I'd say fed would have a decent shot , but now the chances appear slim.

I really wanted to be optimistic and think Federer may have a chance to win here, but after watching both the Federer and Nadal matches today, I can't do it, sorry.

Nadal in two. I hope Federer proves me wrong.

This is Federer's last ever chance to win the Roma title so I expect him to come out and play hard and probably play one of his best clay matches ever. It will be an interesting match. Nadal if he plays well will obviously win, but if he plays like he did vs Ferrer and Gulbis it could be very interesting.

The poll options baffle me though as the GOAT is not even on court for this match so no point even voting.

    brrrrr ok then..

i'm gonna stick my goosehead out and say Federer in three, if Federer plays closer to his QF performance than his SF and based on rafa going AWOL mentally long enough for fed to take advantage,

rafa claimed his concentration wasn't good yet since his injury break.

The very same thing can be said about you, thank you very much. Even the most avid users don't make match threads this early, well at least not since 2011 when the Djokovic-Nadal FO final match thread was taken down.

In my ten months of being here, I've done it, what, a grand total of 2 or 3 times.
And you constantly pick me out for it. Does Internet authority give you a buzz?

I voted Nadal in two. I think he's played extremely well this week given his draw. Occasionally, he's left some forehands short, but, other than that, he's been solid. Federer, too, has played well and maintained a level of controlled aggression that's been missing for much of the year. In addition to that, he's served extremely well in this tournament.

Going by past history, though, no matter how well Federer's played in the lead up to a match against Nadal on clay, he comes up a bit short. I don't think his current level is enough to beat Nadal, but I sure hope I'm wrong.

I see this as the total opposite. I don't think Nadal's current level is enough to beat Fed.

It's not that. It's that some people enjoy making them early before a previous match is over.

Judging by their head to head I expect Roger to road-roll over Rafa in the final.

You're the only one doing it so there you go. Ico did it once I think but not more than 2-3 minutes before the other match was finished. Even there I don't think it was right.

Internet authority lol wth you talkin about? Created a match thread 2 hours early so I reported you as I should. What if Simon won?

Federer, still the greatest challenger to Nadal on clay.

Federer might be able to pull off a win if he bugs Nadal just enough so that Nadal might think about tanking the match. Like a few times at German open in the past.

But Nadal needs more match practice and he will attend the match seriously, IMHO. In that case, federer doesn't have much chances.

Uh yeah right. It was Nole who just ended ******'s Monte Carlo streak, not Fed. Fed had 3 chances(06-08) to get the job done but failed. Only won 1 set.

That can be very risky. As we saw with the Djoker/Berdy match. I don't see the point of being the one to make the match thread. Who cares? As long as it gets made.

Guaranteed that however Roger plays in matches on the the way through a tournament has NO BEARING WHATSOEVER on how he'll then play Ralph.

And Ralph's concentration against Roger is the best he ever displays against an opponent.

As I said above, I agree completely. However, I hope we are proved wrong.

Why does Ralph have to even focus when all he has to do is hit his disgusting spinners to his Fed's BH while grunting like a pig? Or are you saying grunting needs focus? :)

It will hilarious if Fed somehow pulls it off. Remember, Berdych was utter trash (as expected) and made Nadal look better than he actually was/is at this moment in time. If the likes of Gulbis and Ferrer trouble Nadal, I can see no reason for Fed to do so as well.

Come on you old duck, don't let us down. :)

Actually it never is Ralph's call, not even on his beloved clay. The Gulbis match proved this.
