Really? Well there you go. I guess sound isn't everything. Baggy always fires up when he comes down here, so I'm not surprised.

I really don't remember Bags hitting it this clean and this hard for 2 sets in a row, ever. Even during his dream run at AO earlier.

I wonder how hard Del Potro is really going to try in the third.

yeah, that's surprising, but it's the average, so low-speed returns, slices and so on of Del Po could have lowered his overall average.

Good measurement would be to take 10 of their fastest strokes and compare them.

Btw, Bagi takes the 2nd set. Looks like straight sets :( He is playing too good today.

This is painful to watch, I don't want Juan to hurt himself and be out of the picture another 6 months. Time for me to go out for some groceries, I think.

Any top 30 player would probably be "in the zone" against current Del Potro. Was Rochus playing out of his mind too last year?

It's too obvious that Del Potro is trying his best out there but still doesn't have the self belief

look like he takes a lot of pace off his groundstrokes. Compare it to his match vs Nadal in Miami where he was absolutely hitting the crap out of the ball.

im not seeing that at all mate. he's playing pretty decent. and he's starting to pick it up this set especially. obviously he's not back to how he played in miami. that was some of his absolute best hitting. i expect he can regain tat form in 2-3 months

Cmon delpo, the night session crowd would feel short changed if they dont have another 5 setter.

so whats your explanation of Del Potro losing like 4 out of his last 5 matches, beating a guy like Lopez in 3 hours (who cant even tak a set off Tomic), bageled by Lopez in late 2010, owned by Rochus.

You think hes perfectly fine but these guys are playing matches of their lives? Listen to yourself

no what i'm saying is that he is a different player than in fall 2010. do you remember when nadal had his slump and got destroyed in many matches in the fall? then he played better at the ao last year, and eventually found his top form in the spring. thats what i think will happen with del potro

edit: admittedly he did not look good that last game

Baghdatis is playing very well but I'm sure a big % of that is Del Potro being half the man he used to be.
It's amazing that Baghdatis is dominating the match with something like 40% of first serves in

Nadal was nowhere near his best in late 2009 but still he was reaching semis and finals only to lose to hot players, Del Potro cant win 2 matches in a row against lesser opponents
