    Francis27,

If you are a 4.5+ player with long, fast strokes - who likes to hit with topspin - than RPM Blast will give you great spin and control. Many players feel it's quite lively for a monofilament. Here is an in depth review.

Regarding your request for a soft string with good control, we'd need to know more about your game to make a recommendation. If you have shorter strokes, you might like Head RIP Control. If you're taking big cuts at the ball, you might start with some of the friendlier co-polys and experiment until you arrive at the right string and tension. A couple of the softer ones are Polyfibre TCS and Dunlop Black Widow. For a slightly firmer feel, check out Volkl Cyclone or Signum Pro Poly Plasma.

Be careful reducing control simply to a matter of string. If your balls are routinely sailing way long, then work with a teaching pro. If you're playing with a lively racquet and a 16 main pattern, you might consider moving to a racquet with 18 mains. Be prepared to experiment with a lot of strings and tensions until you find the perfect response for your stroke style.

    Hope this helps,
    Jon
