He is still getting over his oz open beat down.

Milos has a good chance of the W.

I thought he meant the SAP open, but yes I forgot about that.

He lost with a busted foot and didn't get bageled or breadsticked. Still made round 4, and del potro, isner and soderling couldn't do any better!

It sure is quite weak if you compare it to other 250s...

Why the hate? The only reason its so 'weak' is because it is scheduled right after the AO. I'm sure the organisers and players both would love a better time slot as it is actually a very nice little tournament.

Usually players like Ferrer plays in this event, but I'm guessing he needs some rest after his good run at the AO.

I've been impressed by Raonic. Good overall game. He might have an outside chance of winning it.

Three ATP events the week after a major, you will not get strong draws anywhere. Not many pro from Africa, which also works against this event.

There are a few reasons for the lack of players....

    1. it is a mission for players to travel from Aussie to Johannesburg after the Open. Much easier to go to Europe to play in the events there.
    2. there is not enough funding for tennis in South Africa and hasn't been for years so this year they couldn't afford to pay appearance fees like the last two years
