I was watching this video of Safin:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrlpJpKb0Do

He abuses his racket like no other, but the thing I noticed is that there are so many PJs that Safin has played with and in one segment, he even played with a Dunlop racket (I think)?

    0:35 seconds in...

Is Safin playing with a Dunlop racket (at about 0:35 seconds into the video)?

I actually have one of his experimental Dunlop frames. Got it from a source at Dunlop. A MW 200g 90". The head shape is uncannily prestige shaped.

Rumour has it that even though the racket that they produced for him looked and matched the prestige completely, he still took all his prestige's to Jay Schwarz/**** to get them stripped down and painted up like MW 200g's. Even Dunlop didn't know he was doing this! He couldn't handle playing with anything other than his PC600s.

i heard when Roman was building his racquets... they would be out in the nyc streets trying to break them (as per Safins request) so that he would know they would break when he wanted to break them...

Someone I know used to work for Dunlop building rackets for the players. he was heavily involved in the design and building of Henman's, Haas's, Blakes's rackets and Safin's experimentals. Apparently, Henman was really easy to work with whereas Haas and Safin were more demanding.

I don't want to disclose his name in case I get him in trouble. I know a lot of people could use this as an excuse but it did back up a story Roman told me when I met him at his shop in NYC.
