In a recent match against roddick at caesars palace Pete tossed out his Wilson and switched to Rodddicks pure drive!

Can you say law suit? Wilson is going go be pissed.

It was noted in a recent post that Pete played a match recently with his Wilson minus the logo on the strings. Sounds like Wilson no longer saw the point of paying him so he went elsewhere.

Actually I'm watching it now on tennis channel on Lendl return of a champion.

Sampras looked really weird with a babolat.

Surely if Pete can serve at 130 mph with that little Wilson frame, he must be able to get it up to 170 MPH with that powerful Babolat pure drive..........Surely...........:confused:

3 minutes and he will probably never want to use it again.
Wonder how much Wilson paid him for that maneuver ;)

Imagine Wilson payed him to use the PD for a bit, and then say bad things about it. Babolat would get super pissed!

    Pretty stupid thought, but still!

So you guys think Wilson will drop him from there brand for a bit of light hearted banter...? Sampras will allways be known for Wilson forever, people need to wake up when they say law suit

I have seen Pete play several EXOs and he has not yet failed to hit with the other guy's racquet for a few points. In Atlanta, he even pulled out a wooden racquet. All in fun--don't go out and pj your KPS 88s yet.

He looks annoyed, probably sees the "AndyR" sig, as it's a PDR or PJ he's using.

No, he does not. There are only 3 pros who have lifetime contracts; Federer, Agassi and Sharapova.

Stop freaking out, pete didn't have a lifetime contract with Wilson, so there won't be a law suit...

    THIS!

Sampras has not switched to a new frame, he just hit with A-Rod's for a bit. An American friend of mine send me the Tennis Channel Lendl video and they said he just wanted to hit with the Pure Drive for a bit. There was footage of him playing with the KPS88.

    SAMPRAS IS NOT WITH BABOLAT

i doubt Pete is getting paid anymore by Wilson beyond royalties for rackets that have his name on it or advertising his image.

if he ever switched racquets, it wouldn't be to THIS racquet. If anything, I'd say he'd use one of the Pure Storms, probably the LTD. Nothing else has enough control.

I just don't think Pete can get a high % of his serves in with this powerful frame. He would sacrifice too much control. also his running forehand would not be as accurate with pure drive.
But having said that, it would be interesting to see just how fast Pete can serve with the Pure drive. ~150 mph ????? ~160mph ?? you never know.:):)

He is getting paid from Wilson for that k88....he is the only person who plays with it. In fact I think it may have his autograph on it??? Not sure??

But the k88 was definitely produced becaise of Pete.....so he has to play with that stick.

But the fact that he switched to the babolat becaise he was losing with the 88 says a lot in my opinion.

How's it not funny? Are they not allowed to have fun every now and then? It was an exhibition match for crying out loud. IMO those are some of the funnest matches that never get televised.

Is there a video of Sampras hitting with the PD, how did he do with it. I heard he hit an ace with it.

Sampras was getting his butt kicked by a guy almost 10 years younger who had just won Miami and plays tennis almost every day. The stick had NOTHING to do with it. He switched to be entertaining, and I'm sure the crowd appreciated it much more than hearing two players discuss tipping.

Please tell me you started this thread as a joke and that you are just posting things like this to keep it going.

I think the more odd thing is THIS THREAD! I actually think it is funny. Just look at all the people in the background that ARE SMILING, maybe perhaps they are LAUGHING? at... wait for it, the JOKE. Sampras possibly even made a comment, in jest! Oh my!

I DON'T KNOW WHAT WE'RE ALL YELLING ABOUT!

It does look like Roddick's PD

from the way the overgrip is wrapped it does look like Andy's stick. I mean, even if Pete does switch to a different brand I would assume he picks something like a mid and thinner frame.

BTW having said that it seems like a lot of "out of contract" pros are using babo. Michael Chang and Kafelnikov both used the APDC earlier this year in a Hong Kong exhibition game.
