Santoro still playing?

unless kohlscheiber gets hot fast he could very well lose to santoro. he had like 40 UEs in his first match. if kohli gets on a streak though he will mow down anyone in his way. in any case I don't see fabrice beating roddick this time, andy is playing well it seems. third round wouldn't be too bad for the old man though!

I hate to watch him because he can't win more matches with his style (more suited to women tennis in my IMHO)

whats that supposed to mean??? Santoro is awesome......he can beat hard hitting Safin or Blake any day of the week!

The Magician is a joy to watch...

Hope he'll have a good run at the AO and do relatively well for the rest of the year before calling it a career...

kohli will take him out. he has too much fire power from both sides and is not afraid to come to the net. jcf's bh was really lame in his loss to magician, and it was like he thought there was a mine field near the net or something.

pay to watch him play

I've watched a lot of tennis in my time and I've seen a lot of great tennis and I would still pay to watch Santoro play... he so unique in the things he could do.. I would pay to watch Roddick,Blake, and a bunch of clones play but you can't clone Santoro's style..

What is so magical about Santoro? Him running around all day because he has no weapons?

And yet he was able to defeat Ferrero, who in his prime had one of the most destructive forehands out there...and would definatel bagel you 1000 times before dropping a single sweat.

This Santoro guys looks pretty cool but damn I saw him play for 10 mins and I couldnt watch more, he has NO forehand? I only saw slices.

Yep. He has a two-handed slice forehand, volleys two-handed off both sides when he can and yet is very comfortable at net, has great touch.

That's what makes him magical. No weapons, and yet can confound his opponent with variety and unusual shots.

he does have weapons. his weapons are his legs, which lets him run everything down, and his brain, which figures out which shot the opponent doesn't want to hit and makes them hit it again and again.

His volleys are great as well, some of the best on tour. that's where he wins the majority of his points. either he junks the other guy with lobs and droppers, hits a DTL backhand winner, or he gets the net and finishes the point there.

I was watching him practice in Sydney last week.

He was belting the cr@p out of every ball...but he chooses to play with spins and touch during matches, which frustrates his opponents...

A win is a win, no matter how you win...
