Many tennis historicians give it a great consideration when they analize the 1949 season.

All that I know is that Kramer defeated Budge in the final, but who else was in the starting fields? Riggs? Segura?

    Only one big absent: Riggs.
Do you consider this tournament a Major-equivalent for 1949?
The only better tournament this year was Wembley Pro, I think (US Pro missed both Kramer and Segura).

Federic, It's hard to decide if it was a major equivalent. I would not count the Scarborough win to Kramer's majors' tally.
