Mardy, we hardly knew ye! You got swallowed by Loch Ness monster.
I think starting threads for different match results would be more informative with more information about the match, don't you think?
Murray thrashes Fish in San Jose
Andy Murray made an impressive start at the SAP Open in San Jose as he crushed Mardy Fish of the USA on Monday.
The 18-year-old Scot swept past Fish 6-2 6-2 and goes on to face another American, James Blake, or Taipei's Yeu-Tzuoo Wang.
Murray is looking to get his season moving after coming into the tournament with two wins and four defeats in 2006.
The victory also avenged a three-set defeat in his only previous match against Fish in Indianapolis last year.
Breaking news! Max G. crucifies Christo for too many puns on Mardy's last name...
Murray didn't really "thrash" Fish as much as Fish just played like total crap. I think I could've hopped on court myself and given Murray a more competitive match than Fish did.
Yeah, I was there, and frankly, Fish was lucky to even get two games in the second set. It should have been 6-1.
BTW, Fish was using that new Slazenger racquet that Henman uses (or paintjob thereof). So I guess that answers the question of if Slazenger is going away. They wouldn't be signing new players if they were, so I guess they're here to stay.
good win for Murray!
hope he can push Blake (probably his next opponent) to 3 sets, though I don't think he'll win.
Man, I thought fish was gonna develop into a strong contender for USA tennis. Guess not.
Total crap? or total carp? Murray made a sucker out of him.
Poor Mardy likely will endure a long life of FISH jokes.
Mardy is back....to sleeping with the fishes.
Time for Mardy to fish or cut bait, apologies to maxG .
But that one made me laugh.
no, he battered Fish.
Fish has been playing some awful tennis as of late. After watching him play in recent tournaments, i believe i can take 1 set away from him.
Mardy was in La Jolla for the weekend. He was on the bench and threw some t-shirts into the crowd. Wayne Bryan introduced him and said he's coming back from injury -- a wrist injury. Obviously he still has a way to go.
Fish don't have wrists..don't believe it.
OK, I might as well join in.
Yes, Fish got fried last night. In the first set, he got smoked, and in the second set, he got grilled. Not to mention getting battered the entire night. LOL.
And you win a gold fish for that. Very good match analysis
You must have been the best swimmer iin your school.
yeah, but he genuinely has a problem with one of his gills...
Deleted. Going S-l-o-w here.
