Early indicators point to the Koch match being crucial
Arias has been disappointing. He was on the ITA top 10 newcomers of the year list.
Adams and Trinh conjure simultaneous comebacks to cancel each other out.
Another choke by SC, this time on Court 6, blowing a 4-1 lead in 3rd set. Auburn/Vandy Doubles just started
Menzies was up 4-0 at 6 and lost 6 straight
Can Pinheiro redeem his Ole Miss choke?
N/M Inside pitch not warranted
He is serving for the match
I wish the blogger would describe each point after it like a radio announcer rather than simply announcing the score.
SC with a tough 4-3 win and of course Dawgie Dawg on the blog making UGA fans look ignorant.
Court 3 is tough to see from where they broadcast is at.
Kind of surprised Vandy won that doubles point; they hadn't done well all year while Auburn had been.
Vandy opening up a can of whoop *** on Auburn. Rhys beat Van Booren 6-0 6-1 at 6
Vandy trying to clinch, leading 3-0, and #2 up 3-0 in 3rd.
Vandy clinches at #2 and wins 4-1.
Bama coming out strong against Ole Miss - up a break at 1, 2, and 5
Bama gets 1st sets at 2, 3, and 5 and Proskura is already up 3-0 in the 2nd on Lutjen as well. Ole Miss takes the 1st set at 4 and 6 with Skogeng winning 5 straight games at 6 after falling behind 3-1 . Botha led Scholtz 5-3 at 1 but got broke serving for the set so its now gone to a TB.
not too surprising to see ole miss struggling with a .500 team that's #12 in the conference
they are easily the worst team that has ever held the #6 national ranking...ever
and i'm not biased...
my pr campaign taking the side of sanity vs the sec rankings monopoly will continue til the sec teams are all gone from the NCAA tournie - so probably by the rd of 32
however, this match is shaping up to be pretty exciting
especially if it comes down to 1 where scholtz was injured not too long ago - see how his fitness is
They are headed indoors
So the match will last about 3 more hours then
how many courts / who goes on first?
3 and they are putting 2, 3, and 4 on 1st I guess since they were the furthest along -supposed to start back up in another 20 minutes
1 was further along than any of those. I guess it's farthest from the end.
Normally the highest 3 cts will go in first
Mississippi State and Kentucky probably won't finish until 1 or 2 in the morning unless it goes 4-0 then it might be done by midnight.
Lindmark serving for the match on 3. O'Shaugnessey was serving for it when play got stopped outdoors and after he lost that 2nd set you figured he probably wouldn't win.
Well maybe I spoke to soon - all of a sudden its now 6-5 Becker. The blog completely left out Lindmark getting broken.
3-3 and bama up break at 1
btw, someone is posting as me on the blog, haha, i'll choose to take that as a compliment
That's classic - I saw that comment by mikej about them moving up to 5.
It would be terrible for Bama to lose twice to Ole Miss this way.
ole miss serving to stay in this again late in 3rd set
if ole miss loses in the rd of 16 of the conf tournie but still is seeded top 8 in NCAAs because of their ranking i'm gonna lose it haha
just realized these two guys battling it out are both south africans
break and match pt for bama!
Alabama may have a shot to host if they win.
true, as absolutely ridiculous as that would be for a team that finished 12th in conference play
another match pt saved - grrrrrrrr
5-5 in 3rd - dangerous service game coming up if he's still thinking about the two match pts
welp if ole miss escapes will have to be in 3rd set breaker
I'd love to be doing one of these blogs. I would be doing point by point descriptions of what happened in moments like this.
yeah, don't see why not when only one court left, besides the occasional 'drop shot' or 'ace' comment this commentary is impressively bland
It's certainly not like this Arab announcer loves Federer
and the blog goes silent
Wow upset city. Horrible loss by Ole Miss
That place will probably be a ghost town the rest of the weekend.
haha, that's amazing
and ole miss loses
if i were on the ITA seeding committee ole miss would be no higher than 13-16, top 8 would be so totally out of bounds
truth (10 char)
losing at home to Alabama in the first round. That should bump them down quite a bit. Key word SHOULD.
No way Scholtz should lose that match.
No, if Alabama had lost, they would have a shot at hosting. Now Ole Miss will climb in the rankings and be a higher seed.
