Alabama playing without O'Shaughnessey. If Arkansas can still not get a win after taking doubles and with Alabama's #2 player out, then they need to close the program immediately.

LSU still in the fight @ Auburn, at least 3 or 4 3-setters with match tied 1-1 right now, good tennis!

Was at the UGA match Friday. They looked much better than they have the previous couple times I watched them this year. Coming in to form just in time, I hope. Two very solid, convincing wins this weekend.

It would take a LOT to beat OSU Wednesday, but we'll see if they can step up. Gotta shape up on dubs. That's been a real weak point the last couple years.

    SEC over the weekend

nothing real surprising, but Georgia stormed over the Vols, complete whitewashing here (also Vols had no Reese available)
should boost the Bulldog ranking back to the Top20. And the Ole Miss Rebels are weaker than i ve hoped. Much weaker.

    1) UGA they are the best team, for me , even if they lose to A&M this SEC season, they are still the best for me. Easily took revenge over the Bulldogs and very easily sweeped a better looking Rebels team.

    2) Texas A&M, Aggies split a tough road trip, suprisingly were swept at Kentucky but answered very good at Vanderbilt. I see A&M still as the No.2 team here

Now i must take a closer look what to do about Tennessee and Kentucky, Vols lost a hard one vs Ole Miss and Kentucky took a big one vs A&M, so a switch should be possible...but vols had looked much better for the season so far.

    3) Vols, bad loss vs Ole Miss, before a hard fought win vs lowly Gtech, and hard fought win vs a not so good anymore MSU. They ve still good wins in the beginning of season vs Duke, (VCU), Wake Forest, (Mich.State) , Pepperdine was their only win at ITA indoors..but Pepperdine is fading

    4) UK beat Aggies by a sweep, big suprprise, but ive still my problems to put them higher as Tennessee, they ve lost both games vs Notre Dame and aside of A&M has not beaten anyone for real. UK is rising, Vols are fading, but so far Vols are up by a slide margin.

    5) Florida took care of business vs USC, Piro not playing anymore?

    6) Vanderbilt the loss vs Aggies looks really bad, also anyone can lose to the Aggies ,and when in look on their results, they ve some nice wins, but no big wins, no top20/top25 wins..so Vandy needs to take care or they will drop somewhen, but so far no one from behind stands up, i will let them on 6

    7) MSU team had a tough schedule, fought well in both games, maybe they can do sth vs Vanderbilt/Florida, but also need to take care vs Ole Miss then.

8.) Auburn, took care of business this weekend, a thing Alabama not did

    9) Alabama , no No.2 vs Arkanas => fat loss...i drop them behind auburn, also they ve beaten them

    10) Ole Miss, very big win on the road at Vols, they game yesterday was not that good, doubles is still a problem..they keep losing there, a thing they even could not do vs USC/LSU/Arkansas; the ncaas looking still very doubtful the 2 losses vs Auburn/Alabama still hurt very much, but if they take care now vs the bottom 3, and can surprise one team out of Vandy/Florida/MSU...they ve still a chance and they can beat one of them...

    11) USC, i drop them cause of Ole Miss, USC lost three matches this weekend....

    12) Arkansas , one decent win, a move up a by a rank, they even fought Auburn very well on Friday, if the two teams above them do not take care...they can surprise them...also Arkansas is bottom team here in sec. Also they ve 3 seniors in them...the recruiting is just too bad

    13) LSU, i must drop them behind arkansas now, the rankings told even before this weekend, 'LSU having a hard time, after losing every good senior the last 2 years, and look on their team...3 Freshman, 4 Sophomores, 1 Junior....thats all

As has been mentioned on the board before Piro didn't exactly give it 100% each time out but he did have some nice wins over the last year and a half (DeKlerk, Reese, Vliegen, Lipman, Proskura, Lupieri). The 2 bad losses that jump out were to Campbell Johnson at the NTIs a year ago (2 & 0) and to McMorrow in the NCAA Individuals last year (0 & 0).

Too bad he couldn't keep it together because I thought he was going to be a strong contributor for Florida this year.

Maybe Shelton is cleaning up and getting his program going but I thought they would be in better shape by this point. Guess it will take another year or so before they start making their move.

Yea, you pretty much nailed it. Doesn't seem that he ever bought into being a team guy and was more like a cancer that had to go before it infected others.

Realistically, I thought he was going to have a better attitude this year, simply because he was welcomed back. Guess not.

Texas A&M's Efferding and Szabo race to the finish line once again in doubles. They have been incredibly solid at #3.

Ole Miss takes the doubles point.
    I see Ole Miss taking #1, #4, and #5
Toss-up at #3 depending on if Lindmark comes ready to play, but knowing both players #3 with be a 3 hr grind fest neither guy misses or hits a heavy ball.

Florida get the dubs point over Tennessee. Georgia/South Carolina comes down to a TB at 3 to decide the double point.

Manny moved Wagland up to #2 which is kind of surprising since he's been struggling lately. Maybe trying to get him to step it up a notch or two. If they play this out I'd think it'd be a 6-1 type of match with Georgia favored on all 6 courts.

Florida shuts out Tennessee 4-0. Libietis lost to Diep in straights in what was the clincher. Vols are really reeling now.

If they keep having losses like this they may drop out of the top 16 by seasons end. Not likely though because once they beat SC sunday they will probably only drop to 15.

Georgia not exactly rolling through South Carolina with Wagland broke serving for it. Looks like Brasseaux may finish first but Austin Smith about to go down to Pinheiro.

Wagland dropped 4 straight games to lose the set at 2 though Austin has got back in it at 3. Looks like triple match point for Brass on the Cox serve

Brasseaux breaks to win it so a closer than expected 4-1 win that could have ended up 4-3 or 5-2 easily.

Auburn and Alabama in a good won - Auburn up 3-2 with remaining matches deep in a 3rd set. Bama up 5-3 at 3 and Barn up 5-4 on 1.

Vols ve a lot of problems. 5 and 6 are clearly too weak and their star player even cannot hold #2. Florida is amazing. Better as i thought. Piro was a great player. But everyone steps in now

Ole Miss will make the NCAA's now. 2 weeks ago I would not have called it. Only thing stopping their bid is a bad injury or two. Rankings always seem to buoy SEC teams top to bottom.

    Doubles Round-Up

Tennessee takes the point over South Carolina despite their #2 losing 8-0. Vols got 8-6 and 8-4 wins at 1 & 3. Only playing on 3 indoors courts today at SC due to court 1 having a leak in the roof.

Kentucky takes the point over Ole Miss with 2 and 3 winning 8-4 and 8-2. Playing indoors on 4 courts at KY. Looks like there may be 3 1st set TBs.

Georgia gets the point over Florida with a 8-7(5) and 8-5 win at 1 & 2. Playing outdoors at FL.

Mississippi State takes the point over Vandy winning 8-6 and 8-7 at 2 and 3. Vandy won at 8-6 at 1. Playing indoors on 5 courts at Vandy.

Texas A&M takes the point over LSU winning 8-2 and 8-0 at 1 and 2. Playing outdoors at LSU
