    Scholtz

It's my understanding he was spotted in Oxford this weekend. Could just be visiting, but worth noting.

If Nik is for sure coming back then they have a chance to contend for the SEC, but without him it would be difficult. Georgia has to be the favorite right now.

He has been training at Ole Miss lately.

He posted this video to his Instagram of him hitting at Ole Miss's indoor facility: http://instagram.com/p/vesqx2sXKW/?modal=true.

Disagree Chris-swede. A&M and Geogia are better than Ole Miss.

at least UGA is really better as Ole Miss, no doubts.

Without Scholtz Ole Miss should get trouble in every singles-and-doubles in SEC-play, maybe can beat the one or another team, but not a lot.

With Scholtz the chances are getting a lot better, but other teams are deeper as Ole Miss. But with Scholtz there are chances to beat some good teams !

nice signing for depth, should push Gowda and Wilder out of the Top 6 and doubles line-up which is a good thing if they want to win consistently.

i thought he will play first next season
    but okay
hmm the rebels have then 9 or 10 players on their depth they allways had only 8 maximum 9 the last seasons
they ve 10 right now..with Hamilton it would be 11...

Good move.....a little more depht will definitely help them. Besides, I think it generally helps the team's competitiveness if players need to fight a little more for their spot on the team.

    Ole Miss - Scholtz

Saw this on twitter. The link goes to their Facebook page, and it appears they were taking pictures for promotional stuff. One would think it means he's coming back.

Getting ready for the season! Starts in January! #HottyToddy fb.me/1Hqqva9Eg

Gowda and Wilder were already out of the lineup with Hansson and Babic. If Scholtz is indeed coming back, then here is how I see their possible lineup.

    1. Scholtz
    2. Lindmark
    3. Kallberg
    4. Hansson
    5. Jorge
    6. Babic

If the Egyptian makes it, then he might play top three and that pushes Babic out I guess. I might flip Jorge and Hansson. Jorge had a better fall, but I understand Hansson had some difficulty adjusting to everything. As he gets more accustomed to the whole tennis/school thing, I expect he'll be better. Lot of talent there.

Think their new signing will probably be #7, so even more cushion if there is an injury.
Wilder, Rogers, and Gowda should never see court time outside of SWAC matches. They fight hard but are not SEC level players week in and week out

Gowda was 2-6 in singles in SEC-Play 2014 with mostly playing on 6. Okay that does not really help, but he also was a freshman, if he can get better..it will help

Gowda was a RS Freshman for what it's worth. Ole Miss fans may have Boy Westerhof to thank for Scholtz return this spring. I do like to see them do well except against one team.

Scholtz is on the entry list for TWO upcoming Turkey Futures (Vorster is also there). So there are still doubts Scholtz will play in January for Ole Miss?

Funny. He's been in Oxford for the last three weeks. Rumor I heard is that he's close to finalizing his decision.

He's listed in this weeks tournament in Turkey main draw. I think he has to check in Sunday. We'll see if he makes it, at this late date I'd think it's likely.

Players who are not in school in the fall are not eligible to play in the spring until classes start. No playing before you ever go to a class. That might be all there is to the absence of Scholtz this early in the schedule.

That makes sense, Ole Miss will need him to shore up the top of line-up and making another solid doubles team.
They are #30 right now without Scholtz so with him, they should push Top 15, maybe sneak a peak at Top 10 if they get on a roll.

Classes start on the 21st at Ole Miss. So his first competition would be the ITA Kickoff in Gainesville.

Ole Miss seems to be doing pretty well in Florida in their first tournament of the year. With Scholtz coming back, they will be pretty good. If they are able to get the Egyptian kid in, then you would have to put them up there. I've heard he's as good as Scholtz.

Gators playing 4 doubles matches to 10 and 8 singles match with 3 full sets today against William & Mary. Gordon Watson is the only one not in the singles lineup for UF.

    Gators beat the Tribe 9-3. Florida won 1-6 singles and 1, 2, & 4 dubs while W&M took 7 & 8 singles and #3 dubs.

the strangest ITA Kickoff 1st round match will be Florida vs Ole Miss, it will be the best matchup in whole country. Florida is fav i think, cause of last season and homecourt, but Ole Miss looks not that bad right now and with the new rules anything can happen.

Gators lost their #1 player in Diep (also Watson could replace him there) , also lost Newman and Alford, two very solid players , Newman especially in doubles. Doubles can be a weakness too find new doubles, when losing 3 seniors. Could be a very interesting game.

Arkansas has their new Italian playing as he was in matches down in Austin over the weekend, looks like he will be #1 or 2.
They open with Mercer Friday in a DH and play Texas on Sunday.

If I am Florida, I might have liked that pairing at the end of last year, but not so much anymore. At home they should be the favorite, but Ole Miss hosted last year and lost first round. Ole Miss is not a team I would want to play first round, maybe second round.

This should be an interesting match to see where Ole Miss will be at early in the year. Scholtz back, Lindmark playing well, Kallberg is Kallberg, add Hansson, Jorge stays at 5 or bumps to 6, either way they are much stronger at 6 than last year.
The doubles will be interesting, do you pair Kallberg/Lindmark back up? Scholtz with Hansson
Jorge/Scholtz IMO did not work out, Jorge was easily picked on, forcing Scholtz to do to much

As far as doubles I think you have to keep Kallberg/Hansson together, because they are 8-2 this year and playing well. Kallberg/Lindmark had moments, but overall not a great team. I think Scholtz plays with either Babic or the new guy if he gets here. Lindmark and Jorge are not bad, so they might stay together.

Kentucky rolls over Dayton 7-0 as expected - Pennington, Lopez, Bushamuka, Minc, Lai, and Yates was the singles lineup.

UK plays Eastern Kentucky in about 30 minutes and then they host Notre Dame on Saturday and Duke on Monday so by Monday afternoon we'll know what kind of team Kentucky is going to be this year.

Gamecock fans - what up with Gabriel Friedrich? I figured he'd be playing at 1 this year but it doesn't sound like he's in the mix to play at all.

Ole Miss took #1 and #3 doubles against Central Florida, per UCF Twitter. No scores.

I noticed that UCF was advertising free pizza. I think that is a better way to boost attendance, particularly among students, than changing the scoring format.

Speaking of scoring format, there is a crazy arrangement at VCU today, so they can fit in multiple matches among four teams. Looks like one doubles match going on at the same time as four singles matches. This has to mean that the scores don't count; pre-season exhibition (and Belmont is whipping Georgetown at the moment).

Scholtz less Ole Miss beats UCF 6-1
Impressive win for Lindmark, Kallberg will be a beast at #5, although with his game #5 has a large number of grinders.. Freshmen at #3-4 could be tough.

Definitely an interesting singles lineup - got to think Kallberg will end up playing above both Hansson and Babic before it's all said and done.

North Florida going toe-to-toe with Tennessee at many spots although Hunter Reese is not in the singles lineup.

Vols took dubs point by winning #3 in TB. They came back from 5-2 down in the TB.
