Yep - looks that way according to the Luxilon String page. I am completely addicted to Rough. I think I'll have to break down and get a reel. That will make it just over $12 per set. Not bad.

Wow, 17g fluoro come to papa. I love this time of year.

The reels are actually less expensive than individual packs, even if it is only $.33 per pack.

Bought a reel of Fluoro. I always thought Fluoro was more expensive than the others but not at the moment. Very nice deal.

what's the reason behind this...? is it to clear stock for a new luxilon string?

I'm sorry, but even on sale lux just makes me feel like i am spending too much per reel.

I mean, what exactly makes them so much more expensive than the others?

This is a great deal, I just bought a few of them. I wonder if some of the other tennis companies will have this sale.

Pros using Luxilon strings is what make them so expensive.

I am sure that is part of the reason.

The other part is that they are outstanding strings. I cannot find a better string for my game (from a playability standpoint) than Alu Rough.

The reason so many pro's use Lux is - like I stated - they are outstanding strings.

I'm not 100% sure if this is still true, but I believe it is...

Lux does not pay any pros to use their strings - from an endorsement standpoint. Yes - they give them free string, but they don't pay any sponsorship money. To me, that is a sign of just how excellent Lux strings are.

    Take care.

You have to keep in mind they are little bigger too. 720 ft versus 660.

Didn't spend the $200+ for a reel, but I did buy 10 sets of Rough. Good deal, IMO.

    Thanks TW.

    Take care.

So does this sale mean that Luxilon is coming out with an updated ALU? TW is not the only place with this deal so it makes me wonder whether a new version is coming out and old inventory is being cleared to make room for new.

Perhaps. I've not heard any news of this happening though. Only time will tell.

The fact that other online stores are offering the same deal doesn't necessarily mean anything - other than the fact that they are trying to be competitive with TW. When you're selling identical products with very similar customer service, about the only thing you can compete on is price.

    Take care.

^ it is. $42 for two (half sets) of Wilson NG and $12.50 for two (half sets) of Alu Rough. $54.50 for two complete hybrid sets of Champions Choice. You save a grand total of $3.50...lol
