Since the beginning of 2009, Ivanovic and Jankovic have managed to beat the Top 20 only once (!!) each (Ivanovic beat Stosur at Wimby  , Jankovic beat Cornet in Paris).

Ivanovic still has a horrible toss and a very low confidence. Jankovic has all sorts of problems, better not list them here.

Is it all downhill from here for the 2 ladies? Jankovic probably won't reach USO final this year and will drop below No.10.

Any chance that either of them will go back to Top 5 perhaps? Maybe a slam or a slam final at least?

Ivanovic seems more interested in modeling and dating, Jankovic more interested in chocolate. If they don't get their s#it together soon, Janko may retire and Ivano may be out of the top 30.

No way, Tipsa will fight to the death!!!

Seriously, do you think Ivanovic does too much modelling? They all seem to do a lot of it, from what I can see. You know these things?

Jankovic overachieved to do as well as she did in 2006-2008. I think as far as being even a top 5 player or contending for slams she is finished. She will continue to be a top 20 player, maybe even top 10 for periods, but that is it.

Ivanovic? It depends alot on her. I dont think the commitement is there like it should be. She has alot more game than Jankovic, and is younger, so has much more chance to rebound and become a slam contender and a top 5 player again.

A lot of modeling, also dating and such. Not everyone can multi task, it seems as though she's had trouble dealing w/ the added opportunities success has brought her.

JJ-I don't think she'll win a slam, maybe get to another slam final but I think if she didn't do it last year when she was in the form of her life I don't think she ever will.Hopefully she'll prove me wrong.

Ana-I think if she can get her act together she can win another slam or two.She has the potential and a big game but her mind doesn't seem to be 100% into tennis right now and she didn't handle the pressure of being at the top well(her form plummeted after she won FO and reached #1 last year).

    Yeah, everyone agrees about JJ.

I am more pessimistic about Ana. I know Capriati and Williams sisters managed to come back, but Ana doesn't seem like that type of person. And besides, it doesn't look like she's too unhappy about her declining tennis. Funny...

I can't stand Jankovic, but I would not mind seeing Ivanovic making a comeback. Same goes for Janko and the top 20.

It's all in the serve and yes, probably some mental issues. They are both outstanding once the ball is in play. If either gets in a groove serving well, look out. It's not like there are any great servers beating them. It's just that no one is good enough to be dominant.

JJ is not a ball smasher, so I think she has limited prospects against the big girls who can serve. She is a great athlete but does not have the power game and shoulders like a man.

Jankovic's and Ivanovic's biggest problem are the serves. They throw in 55 mph cupcake serves.

I think the serves are so bad, so unreliable, that they are using a soft first serve trying to avoid double faulting on the second.

ana ivanovic shouldn't have switched coach. the coach who helped her win the FO is now with Sorana Cirstea, and she's moving up fast.

    Hopefully they are finished.
Of the two, I wouldn't mind Ana making a comeback, I certainly don't want Jankovic back up the top though. I strongly dislike Jankovic.

There's lot of others in the rafters waiting for their chance to make the main scene of the WTA. If you look around various sports, whether its swimming, track and field, and yes tennis...Serbians winning medals, in final heats, etc. are on the rise.

We'll see others, and likely even Jankovic and Ivanovic will still be around a little while longer.

P.S. Way to attempt to hijack a thread by posting totally useless and irrelevant info that has nothing to do with the subject introduced by the OP.

Agree with the serve issue. Too soft. Besides, Ana doesn't come across an a intelligent/ strategic player and Jelena is always playing 3-setters with about everyone, giving the impression that she lacks a weapon to finish the job. I don't see them winning Slams.

Yeah Monica was nowhere near the shape she used to be in due to a deep depression brought on by being stabbed by Steffi Graf's former lover Gunther Parche, and her fathers inpending illness. Yet she still bageled, destroyed, and overpowered Graf. Would have won 7-6, 6-0 without a disgraceful line call.
