Does anybody know what racquet Serena is currently using? It looks blacked out. I was watching her play and although the racquet has the Wilson logo on the strings it does not have those "power pods" that the wilson frames usually have at 3 and 9. Also they showed a picture of the butcap and it has tape over the logo so you could not tell who the manufacture was. Any guesses?

The throat sure does look like the thin NBlade design.

but it could be customised version of the PS 6.0 95 as well.

if that is the case, it is prob a customized to be a little larger than a 95 head.

My guess is that the head size is somewhere between 98 and 105, but just eyeballing it.

The head size seems bigger that 95 to me as well. Both Serena and Venus use the same "black" Wilson

    Serena's Frame

The frames I saw at Sony Ericsson are custom frames. They were so new that we had to be careful pulling out used strings to keep from losing the grommet pieces. You see the grommets were pieced together from other grommet sets.

The string is Wilson Gut 16 at 67.

It is not a Wilson racquet

There are some pictures on Getty Images (e.g. 74384154) which make me suspect that she doesn't use Wilson. At least not all the time.

Watching her playing on Roland Garros I noticed that sometimes she uses racquet with logos, covered by a bandage (on a butt cup and on throat). And today she took out a racquet from Tecnifibre bag...

It's a Tecnifibre bag because the FO String service is run by tecnifibre.

I believe her racquet head size is probably 103-106 sq inch and its thinner than the nblade oversize and it has the ncode logo on top of her frame. I know she uses a long racquet and Venus racquet is even longer. I remember Tracy Austin was commenting at 04 wimbledon that she strings it 67lbs and i guess shes used to natural gut. I remember she used to use synthetic gut a while ago.

I was watching the French this last couple of weeks and wondered about the blacked out rackets they are using, all Wilson say is "experimantal K" couldn't find anything else out. Summer reveals in time for Wimbledon/US open sales?
