    Ok guys,

I have notice it in the Pro circuit that about 80% of the players bring their feet together just before making contact with the ball on the serve. I never really tried that because I have always followed the line of though of keeping my serve as simple as possible. But, I would like to know Has anyone switched from feet appart to feet together and did it had big benefits?

I tried it for a week and my balance suffered. I prefer the platform stance for balance and it's easier to push off the ground.

Check my thread: I found my ideal serve! I believe you will get the most assistance out of visiting the above sticky in this section of the boards.

There are plenty of great players who don't use a pinpoint stance. Federer, Sampras, Agassi all come to mind.

Looks like purely a matter of preference to me.

Check out this thread. It is quite lengthy, but it is good and I don't think you need to read every single post to understand and get something out of it. I actually did the opposite of what you are talking about and found it to be one of the best things I have ever done for my serve, and really game.

IMO, its more for rhythm and personal preference than anything else. i switched from pinpoint to platform and i feel tons better. its simpler and doesnt require excess movement/coordination.
